Starting out as a new player - tips?

So far, I've had multiple games where I'm the only person in my squad (with Fill Squad on), or where I've only had one teammate. I'm not sure of any good strats or anything, because I get killed before I can figure some out - a few times partially because I've not had a full trio. Any tips would be welcomed and thanked https://mobdro.bio/ .

It's been a bug since day 1.Best thing to do is just leave the game if it is not ranked you are playing..

Damage is the stat you want to focus on. Try to inflict as much damage as possible, while minimizing how much you take. Learn when, and how much to heal up during fights. You don't have to one-clip everyone you see.

Spend time in the firing range getting use to the meta weapons. Typically r301, r99, Nemesis, L-star, and whatever else is popular for that season. Just use what others are until you develop a sense of works best for you.

Just try to stay alive. It's hard to get into that mindset after playing other shooters, but self preservation is key in Apex. Like play with your team, but don't just try to win every 1v1.

Finally, probably just find something else to play. So many cheaters, bad servers, new season pass sounds awful, and the skill gap to newcomers is kinda brutal. The game is fun, and can be very rewarding, but in it's current state... IDK, the cheaters are really bad. If they got that under control, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the game, but until then, be warned.

  • This game isn't very forgiving to new players at this point. I'd recommend playing Support or Controller until you get your bearings. Then at least if you aren't getting kills you can provide some use to teammates. Anytime you don't get a full squad, just leave the game and re queue.

  • @tunolno1 I'd stick to Lifeline while you're learning the game as she can be fairly useful even if you can't land your shots. Her revive is best used when your teammates crawl behind cover but expect most players to be too foolish to do that.

Despite this being a team game you shouldn't expect your team to pay attention to/care what you're doing so find a mobility Legend that you like. I prefer Ash since she allows me to push into a fight my team started without me or out of a fight they abandoned me in.

This last bit is very very bad advice that's good for working with the majority of players (DO NOT DO THIS WITH LIFELINE.) In any team fight look for a 1v1 you can win. Your team won't consider you at all and only care about what damage you do. Stupidly diving a fight and getting one knock or a lot of damage works well with a lot of players that just dive recklessly. Again this is stupid advice but it fits with the aggressive nature of the Apex community.

If you play with a team that communicates and look for openings then LUCKY YOU!!! Aim to break one target, isolate them, and jump them with your squad. Do not fight fair.

Its fine to fail to deal good damage but do not go down. The other team gets aggressive if they break any shields on your team and will launch themselves at you if a single one of you goes down. If a teammate goes down rush to them immediately. There will absolutely be a fight there and you may get to shoot a player that isn't paying attention to you.

  • @tunolno1 tip #1. Click the game properties and select 'delete'. Congratulations, you have freed up space on your hard drive to install a good game.

This is the ultimate truth of any battle royale, but good luck trying to find anyone else in all of Apex with the same mindset. Much less two people. And then what are the odds of all three landing in the same squad. Gosh, those odds sure would be higher, Respawn, if you would match on play style in addition to or instead of skill. What a novel concept.
