I just do not understand. I think 1 year has passed since I made a similar thread, and yeah, I am still as bad as I was back then. Tried different things, different settings, different button layouts, spent time in the firing range. I watched like a hundred videos now about how to improve and what settings to use. Yet here I am still standing where I was before.If anything, I feel like I have become even worse, because I have been quitting a lot of games too, even before leaving the dropship. Either because 1 of my teammates was DC, or solo dropped somewhere. And I also have been quitting as soon as my 2 teammates were down. I knew already I was going to die anyway, so I did not bother to even try. My aim still sucks. I couldn't even kill enemies busy recharging their shields. I honestly cannot believe I am still this bad after 2 years. And especially after putting so much time and effort to improve. It just feels all pointless.Apparently my K/D 0,8 after about 300 matches this season.... higher than my usual 0,6.... but I feel like it only increased just because of all the quitting I did before dying. I just do not understand how can you use controller for this game. Really is beyond me at this point.

First of all there is nothing wrong with you in general.Two things what I would like to mention.1 Never ever for get that people have a different pace of learning, some people are fast, some slow, some never learn (I am not talking about you), plus never ever forget that there are people who play this game 8-12 some 16 hours a almost everyday.I was just like you when I started playing 3 years ago, never played a BR game, didn't understand the concept either, and was utter trash and then, just like you did, downloaded kovaaks, aim labs, watched hundreds of hours of YouTube tutorials, nothing worked, nothing helped, I genuinely felt I got worse.Then a good friend of mine watched my gameplay and said one thing what changed everything "You don't have bad aim, your not a bad player, the reason why you feel your are worse is because of your mentality"And we reached number 2. tips:- Stop telling your self you are trash, why? Because if you keep saying this, you want to prove to your self that you are not, so you stop focusing on the gameplay, and focus on the kills, what happens? tunnel vision, you don't care you just rush because you want to kill that one guy not being aware of your surroundings , you die.- What happens in the next game? frustration, tension is already built up because you will say to your self "I am trash I couldn't even kill one guy", then when you get in a gun fight and this is really important because you are already frustrated it will horribly affect you aim. you die- Several games go like this, you keep repeating what you do, and then you just say "I did everything and I am worse" but are you? no.This is getting a bit long, but trust me I was that guy, lost focus on the actual gameplay and I just kept looking at my kill count what always shown 0, I wanted to kill people to boost my KD, I was tried I always got carried, called trash, noob in chat and so onBut once I stopped, and I treated everything different, not caring how many kills I made, and just focus on the game, play slow, if I died I didn't get upset, and the most important thingI stopped saying I am trash and every time when I got in to a fight I kept telling my self "I am better then them" instead of saying "I am trash, oh damn I am going to die again" like I did before.Once I changed my mindset and this is seriously not to be egoistic, but I created a second account in season 8 just to see how far I can go in ranked as a solo starting from scratch, and I reached master, what I would never ever in my life imagined me reaching that levelSo just think about it (and sorry for the long post)

@AcidicSoda44031 Hey man, I'm finding this thread interesting. It sounds like we are getting about at the same overall results, but that I have better gun play, while you must be better at other skills like positioning. I've improved my shooting quite a lot over the last several months, and I attribute that almost entirely to diligently working on a set of firing range drills published by well-known TSM nutter Verhulst. Give this a try for a while on the daily and I think your gun skill will improve. Good luck! @AcidicSoda44031 There is nothing wrong with your aim in general, but regarding to that, one thing what you need to work on, you are cantering your crosshair to much towards the ground, the problem with that, when you need to react quicker you will need to adjust your thumbstick more towards the target, and you will hit a lot of groin, stomach or lower chest shots, try focusing on cantering it to the middle of the screen

@AcidicSoda44031 .8 is not all that bad. I'm not exactly the greatest player but I'm probably a little above average. I can keep my KD in the 1.15-1.27 range. If I thirsted more of my knocks I could probably push it up above 2.0.But maintaining a KD that high is really really really hard. If I got 5 matches in a row with 0 kills, then the next 6th match I have to get 7 kills to maintain the 1.0KD. It's very difficult to do. Someone else must die for you to get a kill.. 50% of the lobby is probably going to die getting 0-1 kills. Anything above .9 or so is probably average slightly above average.

@AcidicSoda44031 You mention quiting before dying but if you are quitting on drop it doesn't matter. You didn't hurt or kill anyone either.

As for the rest, I dunno. Other than kd how do you measure yourself? I say this because KD doesn't necessarily indicate how games go. You can have great games with lots of damage but no kills.

@AcidicSoda44031dude, I feel really bad for you, it boggles my mind that the game is this harsh on some players. It took me a long time to get my controller to feel good too. What I've learnt playing this thing on controller is to start with low sens and when that stops working go a little bit higher every time. If you want I could pm you some really good controller settings that do make a difference if you are patient enough to give it a chance. That's about the only advice I could give you, not saying I am any good but I know a little bit about shooting at least. Are you at least able to one clip a dummy from the platform in the firing range with an R9 with iron sights?

It’s also tough to improve when playing against 3 stack preds all the time but EA doesn’t care, as long as they use casuals to please the 3 stack teams so they can keep buying skins EA doesn’t give a damn who improves. I say this cause it would make things easier and better to improve if people went up against players their similar skill level, as the individual starts to improve so do the lobbies and randoms they go up against. Not just “oh you got 2 kills last game? Pred lobby time” it just makes no sense to me. It’s impossible to get a feel for the controller, for the game, for the map, for the guns, etc. when the player barely last a minute in the match before getting deleted out of thin air, but like I said EA don’t care so nothing can really be done about it unfortunately

It's very hard to know how much of what you're experiencing is objectively bad aim, and how much is respectable aim that just isn't good enough to make you feel like you're accomplishing what you want to accomplish. I will say this though: sometimes the problem is gun skills, and sometimes the problem is knowing when to not shoot at an enemy. Are they too far away for the weapon you have? Are all three targets clustered together so that aim assist prevents you from hitting any of them? Most importantly, are your teammates also at the ready when you start shooting? Because most downs/kills in this game are assisted whether you realize it or not.

Lastly, k/d has meaning, but it is not the final metric to tell you whether you're a competent player or not. A lot of hacks like me have a high k/d because I manipulate the number, and a lot of very solid players (good team players with higher-than-average win rates) sit right around 0.9, 1.0, 1.1. As you do.

One thing that you shouldn't do (I know because I do it, and I hate that I do it, and I know it's foolish and unrealistic) is watch pro player streams, or worse, youtube videos. You will see things there that will make you feel a hundred times worse about your performance, things that you will never be able to replicate if you played this game until the end of time. It creates unrealistic expectations and frustration to the point of hyperekplexia. Don't watch that garbage, and if you have to then don't believe half the things you see.

Oh, and you can't use a controller to do what m&k players do. That's another unrealistic expectation. Pick your platform and then make what you can out of it, but don't go controller and wonder why you can't achieve 90% accuracy at double the specified range of the weapon. You just can't.

@AcidicSoda44031 It's really hard for me to try and give you feedback without seeing your game.

I don't know if your movement needs work, positioning, recoil control or what is going on. Knowing when to hip fire vs when to ADS.. So many things go into being a good player.

In your opinion where do you think you're going wrong?

What happens when you shoot someone who's recharging shields? Are you sure it's your aim? If you unload your magazine into them and they take let's 110 damage, their battery pops well they are going to be getting another 100-125 armor... They can then kill you when you're mid reload.

@Sand_spitter no, I just cannot even do that. I literally have to put the barrel of the gun right into their nose if I want to 1 clip them.
@KoolKid730 exactly, I just do not understand why the game thinks I am good enough to face preds most of the time. I legit saw level 15 people playing better than me.
@reconzero I know all that, that is pretty basic stuff. I watched tips and tricks, I tried to apply them, but I just can't. The months are just flying by and I feel like as if I did not watch any of that to begin with.
@DarthValtrex 0,8 yeah but that was pretty much manipulated with all the quitting I did before dying. It was sitting at 0,52 before, so.
110 damage? I wish, I can barely hit 2 bullets in... I went onto them because I assumed I could have downed them, but no, I just cannot hit anything. My aim is just bad even after all this time.

@AcidicSoda44031 What are your ADS and look sensitivity settings at? Typically when people struggle this much then there is something going on with their settings.

If you have your ADS settings to high.. You'll have a very difficult time tracking targets and compensating for recoil.
