Ive only had one 5 min ban so far, and thats because i left a game after getting downed because the two guys with me offered 0 help in a gunfight they started and then ran off leaving me pinned, they then circled round grabbed my banner and started laughing and joking at a respawn beacon partially going through the respawn process and then cancelling it at the last second.
So yeah,i recieved a 5 minute ban for being the "bad teammate". It's a strange system we've got on our hands here folks.

Many here here complain, because once, they had a bad experience, but they act, like it would happen non stop.
Stuff happens sometimes. Get over it.
Didn't get any penalty so far but some teammates still leave. If situation stinks and I can't respawn mates safely, I try to avoid picking up their banner so they can leave. Most players were patient even though I had to carry their banner for 5-10 minutes to get to a safe place. Only issue was with a Pathfinder that got killed way outside of the ring in round 4 and spammed me pinging their banner until I had to stop somewhere and tell him to look at the map to see there isn't any respawn beacon left inside the ring.
I never get pinalty...not sure what is the fuss about, I simply wait and watch , "while chilling and eating pop corn" :P
The only pinalty I got is my post (Rank VOW) get removed because I declared my commitment that I'll never leave my team mate behind, but being miss understood as frustation, DUHH ???

Actually most of my ranked games have been a pretty crappy experience, but as you so helpfully suggested, i get over it and move on to the next game.
My point here is that we're being penalized for dumb crap our supposed team mates do when the reality is that they're the bad team mates.
Obviously respawn can't overload the game with rules of how to play,that would be stupid. But that doesn't mean the current system is perfect.
There is room for improvement.
