I couldnt agree more with the OP. Removing this ability on controller is doing the overall game a disservice.
Remove tap-strafing, across the board.
NO INPUT-EXCLUSIVE Movement Capabilities. Period. It's completely unfair and removes any sembelence of competitive integrity. How this game could ever have been considered an "E-Sport" is so baffling too me. Show me any other sport where the players do NOT start from a fundamentally EQUAL foundation, where ALL of the SAME RULES APPLY to everyone. Objectively, this [tap-strafing] needs to be removed entirely. Which then opens the discussion for removing AA entirely also. Which I'm not opposed to at all.
It was already bad that you had input-exclusive movement capabilities, ie. Moving while looting and respawning, but now you [EA/Respawn] have taken it a step further and made it so no controller input can use macros period. Yet MnK users can STILL use Steam macros!? If you truly believe that Aim-Assist can compensate for MnK players tap-strafing, or worse, Ras and Neo-strafing all over the place while wall bouncing off of any and everything around using Steam and Logitech macros, you are sorely mistaken! You're ruining what little competitive integrity the game still has, with decisions like these.
I dont complain much but this is unacceptable. I, like many others, have THOUSANDS of dollars invested into my Apex Legends account, but decisions like this make me feel as though we shouldnt be supporting your company or your games.
