Why do you believe that reduced input lag is more important than frame rates?

Both are pretty important, although I'd rather have lower framerate than more input lag. Fortunately you can have both high FPS and low input lag!

@1Tap_TobyVast majority of players already have the hardware to reach at least a 60 FPS rock solid FPS minimum at their monitor resolution and 60 FPS is honestly enough to win in any FPS game (except if the enemy is true pro competitive gamer or if your aim or movement sux...), but input lag is a great issue for almost everyone due to various video settings, various monitors and crappy 3D engines in games. Input lag and frametime and desync from monitor freq are great issue for everyone as this is why you do not feel the FPS games smooth, see the animation blurry and jagged, stuttering etc. Consistent rock solid input lag and frametime and total sync (FPS equal to your monitor frequency or -2-3 FPS) results teh ultimate smooth experience that every gamer wants... Regardless of the FPS, assuming its at least 60 roxk solid (made up of equal frametime frames only....) which is already perfect for human vision. If you have all this reached at your wanted resolution than you may want to buy higher freq gamer monitor and target higher FPS but that will cost you 2000 EUR extra to keep the frametimes and input lag equal for each frames.... otherwise you will have 120-240 FPS game but with varying frametime and input lag and with NOT smooth animation, stuttering etc..... and you have 2000 EUR less in your pocket.... :D
