The biggest issue with Launch Royale

I didn't get to try launch royale until today since I've been dealing with a family emergency,  and I'm glad they changed it to an ltm and brought pubs back.  The idea sounds great on paper and I think the game needs an event like this.

However,  the biggest issue I see is that the devs still just "don't get it."  They have started paying attention to our comments on here of all of us saying we want the "old apex" back whenever terrible releases like E-District or the season 20 changes are made, so they decide that if we want the old game back so bad they will give it to us, not realizing what we mean by that.

I think everyone will agree we want the old apex back when you could play the game for fun and not worry about people with mods emptying 20 bullets into you in one shot with aimbot, when hits would register 1 for 1 when you would hit someone or get hit, when matchmaking put players of equal skill and rank together, when the graphics used to sparkle and not glitch out when looking at things from a distance.

I started apex in season 16 and my whole time in launch royale today I kept wondering what the glory days of apex would have been like while emptying multiple mags into enemies to only do 37 damage while an enemy headshotted me while I was jumping on an octane pad.  I am almost certain these things were not an everyday occurrence in the early days of apex.

The problem is not with modifications made to the game mechanics since then, I actually like the idea of doing away with shields in season 20, the akimbos, Revenant Reborn, and the newer legends and maps (sans e district).  My problem is with the bugs and the way the quality of the game has been the last 3 seasons.  Also, I know that is the sentiment of the players they polled and on here who wanted the old game back, too bad they didn't fully understand what these players meant.

My take away from this and other posts is that matchmaking has decided to brutalize you, for whatever reason. I know there are ways to "play" the matchmaking algorithm, having done it for years in Halo, and also since the beginning of this game. I can still get beat up at the beginnings and ends of seasons, or any time an LTM splits the base, but in the meaty middle of a season, with no LTM running, I get what I think of as pretty reasonable lobbies. Not always, but often. I will still bad mouth the matchmaking in this game, but I know I get less of the brunt than most players do so I should probably count my blessings.

    This^ one thousand times.

Obviously I agree that bugs, hit reg, matchmaking... are all ripe for improvement. And I won't even get into the anti-cheat. But I have to disagree strongly with game modifications from day one. I can't think of a single one that has improved the game. The ones you mentioned in particular (evo shields, dual wielding) gall me to no end. As does the thinning loot pool, respawning players getting their old shield instead of a dunce cap level one. I could go on for hours about all the bad decisions they've made to hand crutches to bad players, or more challenge to the top 1%. The game has got, imo, more challenging, more cluttered, more new-player-unfriendly, without becoming in any single way more fun. Sometimes less, as they say, really is more. I liked it when not every legend had a verticality gimmick, when I could count on a given weapon to behave a certain way and not change every other week on the whims of the pros and their precious meta. And when they hadn't yet engineered all the fun out of King's Canyon because of the same whining pros and streamers. Rant. Over.

Oh, and here's hoping things ended well with the family emergency.

You guys need to put a stop within the Individuals Being able to cheat in the way that do to manipulate the system. Also your paywalls are getting so annoying. Just go back to how you did it two and a half years ago and you're good.
