The E(Apex) Conspiracy
So I wanted to write this since January 1st so let us begin. Ever wonder why Apex Legends was actually made or why the team and their superiors made the decisions they made/make. I have a theory ab...
@BaldWraithSimpLolz like I stated before months ago... I’m beyond needing help. I’m so far gone that help needs me :P
@CrazyPlays54than you still need half the help
@jonesy0218no, not necessarily. Yes EA loves going against the grain and seems hellbent on maximizing profits without caring too much it seems about how it looks. With enough backlash they apologize and either revert (just look at star wars) or tone it down.
With this game it’s like they do that, while also doing nothing further it seems and I just can’t think of a reason why not... so I made this conspiracy :P
@blkarmphoenix, I mean ignored as stated above but not in the literal sense but more like they keep both eyes and their lips closed for no apparent reason. Yes for solo’s/duo’s they exclaimed early on that there are no plans to have it in the games but they’re looking into the possibility. Then they release both modes to widespread success, which makes you think they’ll either run with it or deny it. But after the modes nothing for future which seems weird.
For your first theory, I can understand the reasoning, but they wouldn’t have had to use resources to ‘know’ whether that is true or not. Just look at other games and you’ll have the answer to that.
Second theory I’ve seen multiple times before and tho I do think it played a part in the soft launch, the way you mentioned it I disagree with. Lemme explain why.
Titanfall 1 was hyped as hell. Only reason it got ‘slammed’ was because of the platform exclusitivity. I still know the playstation fanboys slamming the game before it was even out because ‘it comes on xbox’. Reviewers went along with it cause we all know that there is a definitive playstation bias on most reviewer sites. But the game was solid. Nobody I knew disliked the game, heck, even playstation fanboys liked it but hated on it for exclusivity.
When TF2 was announced, Respawn was very quick to mention that the game was on both consoles but the damage was done already. Sony fanboys were saying stuff like ‘the game didn’t do too well on Xbox and PC did it so now you want to bring it over to us as well? Not gonna buy your crappy game’. Alot of those kinds of comments when they only saw a trailer XD. Game releases to very high critical success for both multiplayer and single player. Yet the commercial success was still low across the board... at least for a high profile game that launched on 3 platforms. The reason you mentioned played a big part of the less-than-expected succes. Despite that, the players that played it played it for a long time.
The rest of what you’re saying I agree with in it’s entirety. I do believe tho that they knew alot of ppl would like it but I don’t think, and most companies wouldn’t, they anticipated it to be this huge. So yea.
But there comes my theory into play. Massive success, but no added team members to carry the weight. So far what I’ve seen they only hired an added network engineer to help out, other than that I’ve not seen anything. So yea, tin foil hat conspiracy begins :P
Thanks for your input :D us no lifers (had to do it like that) live the most fun lives!
@Gavlad99thank you for the compliment. They definitely read it :P when 90% of comments are new map/sbmm/solo’s/duo’s/Kings Canyon/remove PK and CR, they have to read it :P but they dont share what they plan to do about it until right before they post a major update, which is wrong... I’ve not logged on since 2 weeks ago either. If you count the small amount of matches (less than 10 in total) before that I haven’t played since the 4th day of the Holo Bash event. I’m gonna wait till new season. So here’s hoping this theory is just wrong xD
@Gabrielmojo26 no synopsis! Read it all or be left behind 😈 you cool kids need to read!
THREAD CLOSED FOR BEING TOO CLOSE TO THE TRUTH
Just kidding of course, but it's the nature of the industry that there are things we can't talk about. A careless utterance can be read as a promise and that can lead to all sorts of consequences
For something like SBMM, we of course have been sending the feedback forward, but at least from the EA perspective we can't comment until we have something to share from the devs. For something like new Legends or Season content, there are planned rollouts as part of the marketing plan (But, uh, sometimes there are leaks).
For Apex blowing up unexpectedly, there are quite a few dev comments that the success/rate of growth was a bit more than expected. From my perspective the numbers were way above what we were expecting too.

@EA_DavidYou're more responsive than the Devs.
New plan of attack fam, let's poke at Dave going forward!
Oke @EA_David
Get ready to become a manchurian candidate, we will soon send over a hypnotist to inoculate your mind, after we find someone affordable.
Maybe they can add a Poke feature while they're adding the "Tweets" section. @EA_David would be in trouble... hehe
@EA_DavidI KNEW IT! You’re also trying to still cover up Rosswell aren’t you... FBI! Think I didn’t knew that you were David Rossi from the BAU (criminal minds people, for the folks that have no idea what I’m talking about).
Of course there’s some things you can’t talk about and this wasn’t necessarily directed at forum mods but more the ppl that handle the social media. I wouldn’t even care if they just made a statement, cause that would be better than the radio silence.
When you’ve got something good, you got something good.
@Gabrielmojo26& @jonesy0218 david is gonna be the new face of Apex! Here here. All bow!
