Matchmaking is the worst in Apex history. Why are beginner players combined with masters/predators and people who have played in ALGS tournaments in one game? Can someone explain this to me? I get people on my team who can barely move and how can they cope in such a lobby?

Stop writing nonsense that matchmaking works based on skills.

Have you turned off matchmaking just because you have the lowest player count in 2-3 years?

I have been given two types of SoloQ ranked matches in BRONZE:
1. We drop somewhere quiet and we end up dying later to a team that sweeps the lobby (total 15-25kills combined).
2. Our jumpmaster decides hotdrop us and we get boxed latest on the third or fourth party.

Both of these situations mean that I get rewarded ranked points. Meaning I am now almost silver from bronze 4 with maybe 10 total kills to my name for the season.
During past days I have been wondering how are these super teams & individuals leveling up so slow? Day in day out I am getting bullied in the bronze lobbies by teams that are dropping double digit numbers. And yet I keep leveling up. So these super players gotta be fed you know. Clever clever.

Yes, it is indeed skill based match making. And its working perfectly so far on my matches.

So far its been pretty far from anything resembling fair. So if you are lower skilled player like me hoping to play against players of same skill in ranked, and having a bad time now, please prepare for even worse times. If you play badly and have bad experience now, you will be given worse experiences in the future.

I will check back on ranked with the next rumble to see how are these other "bronze" skill level players.
I am pretty confident that I already know how its going to go with smurfing/ranked exploits but lets see.

Pubs / Revival mode has the same SBMM bracketing. Some super team will drop 40 bomb and you get 1-4 deaths to your KD. GG.
Now you cannot really come here and defend that the above SBMM is to be considered only in ranked as it clearly isnt working for someone whose season KD is now 0.2.
If it would actually work I would be carried around like a newborn baby.

Thats life I guess. But to me Apex feels unplayable. Once normal trios returns I will check back on it.
