We finally got Solos back after 4 years of asking for it! We have to do everything in our power to make it successful so they make it permanent!

@Lord_Scorpion34 Maybe, lets see if it works better than the last time. However it should not replace duos. In fact removing duos for 6 weeks for this is IMHO is a very, very bad move and should not have happened.

@Lord_Scorpion34 only had to wait severals years while every other BR has Solo since the beginning 🙂better late than never i guess.

@reconzero The issue with arenas shooters is the lack of map variety and gameplay variety. It becomes really repetitive. BR on large maps means fights in different POIs and potentially fighting multiple teams and people. It's different each game. The only arenas shooter style game that holds my interest is the Finals because there's all kinds of options for playstyle, multiple teams in a match and everything can be destroyed, changing the map on the fly.

@reconzero I look at it as a combination. I've spent a bit of time in solos and I still get the BR feel from it. Yes, the loot is better and you can make one major mistake but you still get fights all around the map and can figure out rotations. The only thing that feels off is the enemy within 50m thing. If someone wants to hide or be sneaky, let them. It is a playstyle.

Meh. I mean, it looked okay when they showcased it on ALGS. But will it play out like that in real life, or will 30/50 just jump into Fragment and then it ends up as boring as normal BR?
Plus, it's got auto-heal, i.e. yet another anti-Lifeline mode. 🤡

I initially quit the season a few weeks back but my nephew had a few of the Valkyrie & Mad Maggie challenges to complete & so asked me to help him over the weekend & yesterday & I have to so the matchmaking was absolutely atrocious (considering my nephews account is over 300 levels lower than mine),Solo queueing my squad up against wall to wall high level,very well organized pre-made squads (& even a few squads working together for good measure).So when 'solos' mode arrives the massive cynic in me honestly feels this mode has been brought in for players like me so disheartened with the terrible matchmaking & the complete randomness of my teammates as a means of halting player decline & maintain some sort of player retention.Besides there's far less scrutiny for matchmaking in any solos mode so it's a no-brainer.I played the original solos mode when it came out several seasons ago & quite liked it but felt it was a mode that was more suited to the characters that were more mobile like the Pathfinder's,Octane,Wraith etc.

@Asmodeus566 I agree. But how else would we know how it will work out for the Apex community hence why it is limited. Depending on the volume of players that are interacting with the game mode, will judge to see if they will put both in the future will the season is still in play.

@Asmodeus566 until now i have no idea why people think solo didnt work well. for me it was the best two weeks with the iron crown event. im just sad too,the duo mode had to be replaced... now i dont know what to play when only 1 friend is online... means we change the game...

I know what you mean about the Duo mode.

two of my friend meet up with me on a set day and time each week to play. One of them is sometimes a little late because he has small kids. When that happens me and the other play duos to warm up until our third shows up.

For the next 6 weeks we are relegated to having to play with a random if the above happens.

Auto heal is the tip of the iceberg. The mode is filled with shortcuts and bandaids for players who are lazy or stupid. Or both. Mostly both. I will never understand why so many players left the arena shooters of five and ten years ago to come to battle royale games and then just endlessly complain about how they don't like any of the game features that differentiate BR from arena. I'm mystified.
