im mad. all i want to do is link my steam to my playstation account but i cant because they need the old hardware for a verifiction process. its stupid its dumb. i dont understand why thats athing but that sounds more scammy then anything

I'm not sure why you're being asked anything about your PlayStation when you're trying to link your Steam to your EA account. Could you share a screenshot of the message you're getting when you're trying to link?
EA_QueenBee I think they mean that their PlayStation Account has 2 Step Verification enabled but they can't verify ownership since they are not logged into a PlayStation anymore.
TritonAxew If I'm correct and its an issue with the 2 Step Verification process for your PlayStation Account, you would need to reach out to PlayStation Support:

In order to progress with the same Apex progress, you need to be using the same EA Account with the platform you are playing on also being linked to that same EA Account.
This would mean that you shouldn't need to log into your PlayStation Account to link Steam as the linking would be done through the same EA Account that is currently linked to your PlayStation Account because your progress is stored on your EA Account, (unless you are using your PlayStation Account as the login method on the EA login page, which then yeah, you would need to verify ownership of your PlayStation Account if asked to in order to log into your EA Account).
