Each of these articles seems to allude to the fact that attackers are just leveraging Discord to trick people rather than Discord being inherently flawed. This is not to say you're wrong for warning people, just that Discord as a service is NOT the culprit.
Your post is a good reminder for people to be aware of what they click on, but I don't think people need to avoid the platform altogether.
