@HappyHourSumwur Sorry if I contributed to going off topic, but I feel it goes hand in hand with this. I think sbmm has suffered because of all of the problems feeding into it. Basically, the crappy matchmaking that is causing people to leave is a symptom of all of the other issues you mention.
I am teaching my cousin to play apex right now and he is a veteran of fps games, he regularly livestreams Fortnite and has played the Call of Duty games for years among others. I didn't tell him about any of the current problems with apex because I didn't want to cloud his impression of it, and I was shocked within his first three days he started complaining to me about hits not registering when he could swear he landed the shots, and he felt like other players were killing him using very few shots. He also complained to me that bullets went through cover or around corners at times. He also asked me if the game was having a cheater problem. I was surprised he already noticed all of these things within his first few days. If it weren't for me liking the game so much he probably would have quit already, but he stays because I like apex and we basically agreed to learn each other's games. (He's teaching me to play Fortnite right now lol)
Anyway, the hit reg and sbmm issues have made me want to rage quit many times, but I think once they fix the issue with cheaters these problems will go away, since I believe the hacks these players use are affecting the servers. They did speak publicly about it and even asked questions on the survey about it, so I have a feeling they are working on it and the game will change for the better soon. It's one reason I stay with apex.
