The difference on ps5 is immense for me. I can see so many details much further. And I never see frame drops. Yes you can get better on PC due to the options and lack of locking settings but PC also has a lot more cheaters and a smaller player base. Then you have to deal with all the different configuration options the devs have to worry about and all the crashing that can result from it. I've had gaming PCs. I always prefer a console. Everything is simplified and everyone is at an even playing field.
Oh and let's be real about the aim assist. Yes it is turned up more to help on console but it never ever "locks on".
@hayhor
I get that you could be coming from the original consoles from 2013, but that's not what this discussion was supported to be about at all. I blame myself for the title, my bad. I changed it to better reflect what I was trying to say.
This wasn't at all to be a PC just wins or anything close to that. I'm not biased and/ or brand loyal to any company or product at all. I could love a game, but if they do something I hate, I'll speak my mind instantly.
The point I was trying to convey was that my weaker PC could run Apex Legends far better, even though the Xbox Series X has better hardware then my PC. That's only my point of view though. I get some people are coming from older hardware and the SSD alone should be enough for people to be happy. I'm not at all trying to bash your new experience, I'm not that type of person. Just stating my point of view with the system.
I don't agree on the subject that consoles have a bigger community than PC for Apex Legends, I think the opposite. I think most free 2 play games have more people from PC because they spent all their money on their hardware. Is that biased thinking? I know more people who spent $100 on their heat sink then games in the last 2 years on PC.
All jokes aside, I still think Apex has a bigger PC community still. A quick glance on Twitch looks mostly PC with controllers in my opinion. Most like the high 200+ frame rates.
Another point is the aim assist. Yeah, it's true that PCs have cheaters. That's 100% real. After playing on console this much though, with this amount of aim assist, this feels like everyone is an aim bot...
Like, everyone has god aim. On PC, it would be rare for a mouse & keyboard player to hit you this much, even some good players.
I would honestly play against a mouse & keyboard player, over an aim assisted controller player any day. I think that's why I like playing PUBG on consoles, it has no aim assist.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@Popa2caps I didnt take your post as a vs one. I just simply stated why I view things differently.
Yeah I'm not sure about which platform has more. I made the assumption that cross play was as much about boosting PC lobbies up as anything. Especially when before crossplay some PC players were complaining about queue times and have now stopped. - 5 years ago@Popa2caps It depends on what you mean by runs better. The series x is running it in ultra settings at 60 with the max fov. Why would you not run at higher settings if it make no difference like it does for me. I find it much more enjoyable to play with the best visuals you can rather than the quality I see on some streams and YouTube videos. And let’s be honest about the aim assist it doesn’t give you his aim and doesn’t stick to people. If it did then explain how I missed in this video https://youtu.be/vU09iSKa-C8
Also for my name is not John. The frame counter starts on frame 0. That why it goes to 59 when running at 60fps.- 5 years ago@Mr_Mi5ch13f_2 Ok makes sense ty.
Now that the title has been changed, I am no PC guru but I think they could better optimize it for next gen for sure. For a number of reasons a lot of devs at different companies are behind in optimizing for the new Xbox, hardware availability was a reason, I have my fingers crossed that we will see more optimization in the future. Unlocked framerate beyond 60 for sure should be an obvious one, I don’t know what else they could do since I’m not super familiar with PC settings- Anonymous5 years ago

For starters I would immediately have an option to disable ambient occlusion, anti aliasing, lens flare and motion blur. It's adding to the input latency too much in my opinion. I'm only asking that they allow the user to disable these, not saying they should just turn them off automatically.
