So far I'm split on it. Like the variety but it's a city version of Storm point to me but with levels. Wish you could explore a new map like they when Olympus came out. That way you get used to it.

I don't mind the map, like the colors and the condensed areas for combat. However stuttering really bad. Even in the drop ship, I'm freezing, stuttering and on the fly down. This map is not good for these servers.
BUT WHERE IS THE BLODDY LOOT! Almost unplayable with the current loot pool.

Map is nice looking, thats a fact but its a feast for wall hackers. Half the time you dont know were people are and the other half you get * from a blind spot due to the number of structures and given the amount of buildings there are the loot is just laughable. And again night mode the never ending nightmare that makes visual clutter a lot worst.
One would think that they would have already learned rom previous experiences but here we go again with the same mistakes. Evidently they don give a * anymore.

ok, after picking a suitable legend and playing some rounds ...
Con:
1)Colors ... looks boring after a while ... too many similar styled areas with the dominant greyish concrete and neon colors, lighting with similar "radiosity" and brightness.
I guess the brightness being same level all the time annoys me the most , making it the main factor i dont like the map that much in comparison to the old ones.
Having some areas more/less bright/warmth, maybe even a "night"/dark area would change the feel of the map a lot
Maybe some areas could be completely in a different in style, eg. smth like "Slum lakes", a bit more rotten/dirty textures and some waste/ect./ other materials.
2) Loot
its bad, like in ... really bad ... if i have to walk miles away from my team to pick up stuff ... is not ideal.
you can run through 4 to 5 untouched rooms in some areas (no lootbins around) and still are the melee guy
Pro
What i did enjoy are the mall areas and the busses.
The interior of the buildings is nice, the skyscrapers make up for the lack of terrain elevation.
The map is playable (after i switched legends it started to make fun) , has some eyecandy and fresh ideas, but also a boring undertone.
Using Survey-Beacons seems mandatory on this map - HappyHourSumwur2 years agoSeasoned Ace
Good
1) Attention to detail is amazing. Tons of embedded lore.
2) Visuals - I know it is a matter of taste but I love the neon amd holographic touches. The Lotus & Galleria are highlights. The hologram koi as an example are super cool as am example (forget what POI they are in). I also want Mirage's cereal IRL.
3) Variety - They do reuse some assets but not as much as in other maps. Some of the buildings feel familiar (4 story zipline buildings for example) but aren't exactly the same. Every area feels very distinct and unique as a result.
4) Height - Tallest buildings in Apex and some crazy long ziplines. Put an Evac tower on top of one and you can get halfway across the map.
Bad
1) Absolutely massive - Storm Point feels small compared to E-District. Results in large areas surrounding POI's with absolutely no loot. Lots of running, especially to get around some of the high walls you can't get over with Valk or an Evac tower. Not sure why they didn't put urban Tridents in this map.
2) Loot distribution - Everybody I played with felt like the loot was just bad. Players had to really spread out on drop as a result. The bin resets helped; finding 3 gold bins next to each other is like Christmas.
3) New.movement tech doesn't really add anything new. The jump pads and mini grav cannons don't feel different and I haven't really used them in combat like I think the devs intended. The jump.pads don't really send you very far when you slide into them and I was hoping they'd feel more.like permanent Octane pads.

The reason you haven’t used any of those jump pads on a fight is because you can’t find anybody and when you do finding somebody in that specific location is very rare I literally went through two buildings bottom and top floor not one gun ammo a grenade, and I have two teams dropping at the same place. I have no shot. I won’t play tell the old maps are back Plus, I hate the new mode. You’re chasing a Valk or an octane or pathfinder even a loba CRYPTO is nearly impossible if you are on like fuse Etc… so they run and their teammates spawn back in right on top of you and then you have to kill them again and again, and one guy keeps hiding forces you to play a movement legend I loved call duty resurgence, but people didn’t have abilities to escape and hide with the tall building a good Valk can get away so easily and let’s call what is every game I won so far my teammate was a crypto, a random one and he would just go invisible until we respawn in he was so good at hiding lol {Invisibility} it got to the point where I would just push fights. I would’ve never pushed before because I didn’t care if I died because he was sitting there holding down the fort.
- HappyHourSumwur2 years agoSeasoned Ace@EPS1234 I can definitely see matches turning into "Find the Crypto" or "Chase the Valk". I also don't understand why it is the only mode in pubs; we should always have standard trios available, IMO. I also miss quads TBH.
The new mode is fine for what they are trying to do but will have some unintended consequences. Lesser skilled players may end up with KDR's around 0.1 because of how bad matchmaking is, for example. That's pretty damn discouraging and doesn't really help retain newbies. - 12 months ago
Out of the 10ish ranked matches I played yesterday I get to see the map perhaps on two occasions.
I dont get the mindset. We have full new map to explore. Yet every jumpmaster I get chooses to go immediately down to unknown loot area with 8 other teams. Can we get the new map into Bot royale?
Also can we get ALGS dropship to ranked?
This would fix so many issues for lower ranked players mainly smurfing for kill players would get bored.
- Lord_Scorpion3411 months agoLegend@HappyHourSumwur I feel like SP is still bigger. But you have tons of buildings to navigate around like the mountains on Storm Point. It would be nice if more buildings had some kind of pass through. I don't mind the darkness of the map either. It's nice to have variety.
