I use in game sens of 1.2 and 1000 DPI.
I prefer inverted because I like to push the mouse forward to counter recoil. It's also feels like a more natural control similar to an aeroplanes flight-stick where you push forward to nose down and pull back to nose up.
Deceleration and acceleration changes DPI (sensitivity) based on the speed at which the mouse is being moved.
For example:
800 DPI with 50% deceleration would change the DPI to 400 while the mouse is moving slowly.
800 DPI with 50% acceleration would change the DPI to 1,200 while the mouse is moving quickly.
The DPI doesn't flip between the different DPIs, it happens on a curve so that the change is smooth.
I'm always messing around with settings though, and currently I'm using 600 DPI and 5.0 and 1.0 (ADS) sensitivity settings in-game.
- @DeadI43 Do you seriously believe that?
We should also factor into any discussion about mice settings the type of sensor of the mouse and the type of surface they're being used on.
Optical sensors are most suited to soft surfaces. Such as cloth or woven mouse mats. Laser sensors are better on hard surfaces. But can be used on both hard and soft surfaces.
Each type of surface will have a different level of effect on mouse movement due to friction. A mouse will move more slowly on less dense materials such as cloth, rubber and woven materials. But will move more quickly on denser material such as plastic, glass, wood and metal.
I use a SteelSeries Rival 500 which has an optical sensor. I had been using it with a SteelSeries 'QcK Hard' mouse mat but recently switched back to a SteelSeries 'QcK Vector' soft mouse mat. The soft cloth surface suits the optical sensor perfectly.
I used to always use laser sensor type mice and assumed I could get an optical mouse working on a hard surface. But it takes so much messing around and experimenting that, in the end, I gave up.
It may be worth checking to make sure your mouse mat or surface is suited to your mouse. 🤔
If you get the right combination of sensor and surface, adjusting the settings should become far easier. In the end it's personal preference but something to bear in mind. 🙂
Doing 400 dpi at 3.0. When I started this game it was 400 dpi @ 1.8. I was trying to imitate my CSGO setup but it eventually became clear that their were too many differences and a sensitivity that low just wasn't going to cut it with Apex.
In retrospect it was not wise to try and do a straight copy from an esport. BRs inherently lack the readable component that allows you to deduce the location of ALL of your opponents through map knowledge and game sense. Here you can't rule out threats from behind just because your teammate is watching and you can't fixate your aim on the 1-3 possible openings that the enemy can emerge from.
The movement speed speed of players and the extra emphasis on vertical environments gives added purpose for that higher sens. And flickshotting is no longer just for enemies; you're kind of doing the same thing a lot when you're trying to minimise your time spent looting.
I can't remember my FoV but I think I'm around 90. I know from forcing a 4:3 ratio in CS that I'm a more confident shot when I can see the centre of my view just that little bit more clearly. The results that I immediately started producing proved that the benefits clearly outweighed the loss of overall view. Here I figured I would try something similar by keeping a still fairly narrow FoV but with a 1080p res. I'm sort of meeting in the middle because of the BRs open nature.
i am atm run 800 DPI with 2.5 . 1.0 seems to be ok but I have other issues like playing with randoms that make my blood rage . I am gold 4 atm sitting on 3000 PR but with randoms I feel like I have to abandon them because they have 0 chances to play smart while enemy teams are all pro stick as 3 cover eachother like pro army . I don't get why I am so unlucky . so far only 15 wins in seasons 3 of course all with randoms
@Mast3rMirror I'm abandoning everyone I play with at the moment, as well. Ha ha ha! Anarchy! 🙌
DPI: 500
In-game sensitivity: 5.0 (default)
In-game ADS sensitivity: 1.0 (default)

🍺🙂

I think Ill scare people here now...
2400 dpi, 2.2 in game

800 dpi on mouse 3.0 in game and 1.1 for all optics.

Damn I have halved my sens xD
