Why do people cheat to begin with?

When streamer Mande interviewed the notorious destroyer2009 hacker about why he cheats he couldnt give a solid answer. 
I think it comes down to the fact that there are loads of people who just love Apex to the core but cant enjoy it due to team based competitive nature of it. 
And when you have PvP game there will be always people who see it as competitive game bringing in the sweatiness to it. 

You can be super good individual at the game but when faced with coordinated 3 stack of players you will most likely lose. 

Personally I think its for two reasons: 
To gain a recognition in form a badge (bad self esteem)
or
wanting to play the game they love on an easy mode (just trying to have fun).

Badge could also be related to idea of selling the account to fix someone else bad self esteem. By cheating the individual can create multiple badge accounts more quickly creating significant income from a F2P game when you are living in low income country.
