Why does RESPAWN stop giving FREE Apex Packs at lvl 500?

I don't understand why they do this to devoted longtime players, here is my issue... At lvl 300 we go from getting a FREE pack every other level to 1 FREE pack every 5 levels. After reaching lvl 50...

It's just how they've always done it, when the level cap was 100 we stopped getting packs upon "level up".

I guess it's because they're not actual level ups if that makes sense? Like when they do increase the cap it'll continue from 500 and none of the 'levels' you earned between 500 and the increase will be there.

I'm gonna assume in early development they were actually going to do something worthwhile with tokens and just never bothered in the end. *shrugs*
