- dSKyNafinchin4 years agoHero (Retired)@CCbathwater I have! I run with it quite often, actually (before it was crated). It's definitely not a "good" iron sight, but still better than the dang Hemlock. I just hate that full ring sight on there. The Scout has those two extra prong deals which are pointless, but the center prong is pretty easy to see, for me. I've gotten many semi-long distance kills with irons on it! Still prefer a sight, obviously, but I can deal with it until I finally find one

These guns exist because they're functional. They will work if you're proficient at using them, the guns in this game are all balanced to have a similar level of effectiveness. Im not saying the balancing is perfect, but just stat wise any of them are viable. Players gravitate toward certain weapons. Some guns like R-301 are very simple and easy to get into, and of course when people favor one particular weapon they get better at preforming with it. Even if a certain weapon is neglected that doesn't make it useless, and the game would definitely be worse without variety.

Mid range comparing vs 301, flatline, volt, rampage etc. = Hemlock loses out. Especially if you are one of those players who hit only one out of three bullets on burst fire.
Close range - one tap pretty much guaranteed 100 damage + slowing enemy down as heavy ammo weapon, not bad at all. Also in my experience very accurate in hipfire mode close range.
Long-range or about with 3x 4x scopes = very very competitive and annoying plus faster than 30-30, I believe also higher dps than 30-30. Only rampage and g7 competes in this range with hemlock one having bigger recoil other now being in carepage.
I would agree that it would not be viable option when anvil receiver was around - reading about it seems that it made flatline and 301 into hemlock type of gun plus with even higher damage. Now it clearly has a place to be.
If I find one especially in the beginning of the games when I have no sights I will quite often take it over flatline, r99, longbow, bow, wingman (even though I force myself playing that damn overpowered pistol).
p.s. personally, I find its sound effects very intimidating same as you hear charged sentinel or charged up peacekeeper - it just makes you think twice. @Cheese9ManI hate the Flat's site more. Picking up a site is a must for that thing. Only weapons I actually like iron sight on is Volt, Rampage, & the light pistols.
- e1b2b41da38ee6894 years agoSeasoned Ace@Lord_Scorpion34 not the case for the paid skins, sometimes I managed to pick up one from a killed enemy and indeed that slim Flatline skin has much better iron sight but it comes at the cost. Is it worth it - not for me, easier to find any scope in game than a spare money to send to Respawn :P
- BaldWraithSimp4 years agoNot applicable@EREGDS That skin is essentially free if you ask me 😛
- e1b2b41da38ee6894 years agoSeasoned Ace@BaldWraithSimp well then I guess I am not the lucky one who got it, still stuck with all the generic skins for most of the guns aka no slim wingman or flatline ones so far.
- BaldWraithSimp4 years agoNot applicable@EREGDS I have like 6 of the slim Wingman skins haha (not counting the reactive skins)
- @BaldWraithSimp Is death ray perhaps one of the most-recolored skins in the game?
