why is aim assist still a thing

i love all the people defending aim assist like it literally isnt cheating. its a script, program, whatever you want to call it that helps you aim. it doesnt aim for you, it HELPS you. thats literally the definition of cheating. my mouse doesnt have that. i dont care if controller players have to use their thumbs and we get to use our whole hand/wrist/arm to aim. they CHOOSE to play on an inferior input. i dont get the option of opting out of playing against console players for some reason. i get forced to play against people with soft aimbot. 90% of the people that beam me in this game are on controller. does that not raise any red flags to you? i have over 40 clips of being beamed by aim assist. ive been hit for 150+ so many times by controller and i bet i can count on one hand the amount of times a mkb player has hit me for 150+ in one mag and im constantly in diamond lobbies

ive watched a lot of controller players play. the bullets seem to act way more different than the people on mkb

my whole argument is that aim assist shouldnt be a thing anymore. players are way better now than they were 15 years ago. they dont need help aiming. take it away and all controller players will be on the same playing field. ive played other shooters and never once complained about aim assist(except for halo but that game is more of a controller game anyway). aim assist is very very noticeable in this game and anytime i get beamed and die, im right 9/10 times that the person is on controller. i shouldnt be able to do that. just let pc players opt out of playing against console players.
