Why is plat 4 ranked filled with party’s of past predators and masters

So basically all of my games I see th e person who killed me and their team have all three of the badges with predator or masters. So why me a nooby plat 4 against a party of predators. Mmr needs to ...

@0xznn This is the issue with no limit on going backwards in rank with each reset.

@KelRiever No that is not true. Every person that plays can derank all the way back to bronze 4 by simply skipping ranked for a couple splits. Preds only have to skip 3 splits to go back to upper bronze. So then at that point preds play limited ranked, wrecking lobbies until they get to gold and then reset again back to bronze.

@hayhor First demotion from Pred to Plat II(season ends), second Gold IV(first split ends), third Bronze II(season ends). It is 3 demotions but only 2 splits(one season)

@ILostT0Loba Yeah what I meant. Guess they wouldnt technically skip the 1st.

  Okay, true enough. But I'm kind of envisioning that if they went past plat at one point, they like playing the game, and they like playing ranked so I presume they're playing it, just not trying that hard to get above Plat.
  That's where I think a lot of people end up who play ranked as a thing. You sort of can get there with enough grind, but you aren't getting past Platinum without dedicating a lot of time and effort. Okay, so maybe some of you Diamond, but certainly not past Diamond IV.
  And so I don't think they are purposefully deranking. I think they're just letting gravity take over and still playing.

    @KelRiever I think a lot of people grind to pred a few times and decide it isnt worth it so they only play pubs. Then they derank all the way. Then they get sick of pubs and bash people in low ranks.
    
    Jankz actually said on his stream the other day he has done the pred grind 5 times and it isnt fun like pubs is for him. Sooxfar and itemp say the same thing.
    
    We are I what season 9? There are probably tons of former master and preds that only play pubs now.
