Ive been maining vantage ever since i got in the game(about a year ago) and all ive been getting is flack for playing her. From the pros bashing her kit, to my random teammates bashing me for using her, its just so hard to understand how people can hate a character so much when shes not even that bad. Id love to hear personal opinions why you guys feel the way you do about vantage:D
There are a lot of legend choices I would question before I questioned Vantage. I'm far from a professional grade player, but I have to imagine that when they're looking at their squadmates they're probably asking, "What is my squadmates' legend doing for the team?" Which explains why so many people think Lifeline is indispensable while I think she's utterly useless. If I had to play her, with no worthwhile mobility to speak of, I'd be dead in no time. And I honestly can't imagine going through a single match, much less thousands, where my only real utility is in bailing out my trigger happy teammates. And to bring that all back around... they're probably looking at Vantage and thinking that she brings nothing to the table in terms of helping out her team, especially when the typical player is 100% about run-and-gun close quarters combat, where, you have to admit, she really doesn't get much chance to shine. She's primarily good for mid- to long-range recon and poking. None of the adhd kids in this game have any use for mid-range pokes. That's not how you get downs or kills or good YouTube reels. So you and I are pretty much at odds with all the other players in the game. Well, that's my guess.

I have to really disagree with your above statement, at least in the way I play Vantage.
Vantage is great. Grab an SMG or a good pistol and pair it with an 301, flatline, Hemlock or L-star. With those and the ult you can cover all three ranges. Play hear aggressive and close quarters, the Ult is for poking, initial damage/downing a player that is unaware and then it is push push push for the sqd wipe. Players that play her with another sniper weapon and or use her only as a sniper are not getting the best out of her.
