I'm not saying you're wrong but didn't caustic get a buff at the start of the season?
He can take more damage and all legends move at the same speed. You can test this by having a race in the firing range with a friend.
As an ex wraith main I can assure you she is not op. I had to abandon her completely after the nerf. That 1 secondary delay when she phases will get you killed every time. And all you need to do is follow the blue streak she leaves behind and start shooting at the end of it and it's game over, I have no problem killing wraiths. All things being equal she will lose a 1v1 against any legend with fortify.
@Sand_spitterBuff? He hasnt had a buff for multiple seasons. The last buff was probably when they made it so teammates were not slowed in the gas.
He has had a series of nerds since tho including-
Longer tactical time. People seem to forget he used to have a shorter time.
His barrels are now super easy to shoot down before deploying.
His barrels can no longer be thrown thrown tight windows.
Wattsons ultimate stops his barrels.
Opponents are no longer blinded in his gas.
Caustic used to be a counter to a wattson team. Because of the 3 items above he isnt. He was also very good if used aggressively. Again, because of the those items this is no longer the case.
Wraith is still favored over every other character because she is tiny. Yes you no longer can just run straight in and then get away but she still is the toughest legend to hit. And the sweats still play her mainly because of that. Plus she can reposition herself and her team without taking damage.
Pick rate and comp meta says it all. The claim is caustics pick rate went up after the announced buff. Well duh respawn wasnt that the point? I'm betting that goes back down now.
I'm still playing caustic and having fun. He just has to be used a little different now and good players know exactly how to deal with him.
I dunno man, I have no problem hitting her or getting hit for that matter. Everyone seems to have god level aim these days anyway.
Fortify counts for a lot up close.
I'm not saying you guys are wrong, but wraith isn't nearly as good as she once was. In fact I'd still choose bloodhound / horizon over her. To me her tactical is basically useless now and the portal is useless outside the ring. And good luck to any wraith pushing a caustic in a building, saw one on my team go down like nothing the other day in the final ring.
I get that they buff / nerf to balance the game but I feel the changes made to her were unnecessary, same with pathfinder. People were having fun playing those characters the way they were. If everyone felt things were unbalanced why not just buff the other legends and leave the rest the way it was? I don't think it's good to have characters with obvious flaws to their abilities that gets you killed.
Yeah, I mean it's a special ability for a reason right? It should make things easier, not get you killed. With that animation build up before her phase I might as well just run normally and take my chances.
I can understand your pov, but isn't that the whole point of having a hero shooter? You're not gonna be much of a hero if your abilities suck :D
I never felt the game was unfair or that someone had an advantage over me purely over who they chose. In any game you will find characters that people like more than others, some are easier to use than others, some are difficult to learn but once you do you're unstoppable etc. If I don't like a certain character I don't play them, but to try and drag the rest of the good characters down to compensate for bad design on the devs' part doesn't make sense to me.
The real issue is people can't aim and then blame it on the opponent for having the "better" legend when they lose. So let's make every character equally trash to play with to keep things fair? No. I say why pick up a p2020 if there is a r99 or a volt lying right next to it? What more can they realistically do to Wraith to make her worse than she is now? They shouldn't be nerfing anything, instead they should be coming out with better ideas for other / new characters to make them more appealing.
