Why you think Noobs play Platinum (and why you are wrong)

You have to understand the scoring system.  If you don't, you live in a fantasy called if you play hard, you'll advance in rank.

That's nonsense.

For the most part, I should say.  Because if you are really supposed to be a Diamond Ranked player, you definitely advance through Platinum.  But Diamond players are a minority.  You just are not a diamond player if you cannot consistently get 2-4 kills in Platinum and place top 6 on average.

Most players (and I  actually mean the word most, like it tells you in the dictionary, most is more than half) cannot even get to Platinum.  One huge fallacy is that people think you can hide to get to Platinum.  You cannot, reliably.  To get to Platinum in the time a season allows you before the split, you're going to have to kill some enemies.  And if you do, and place higher, then yes, you're better than Gold which is the average (again, use the dictionary, average as in median, as in this is the rank the greatest number of players are in), you're going to get to Platinum.  Otherwise, you're burning a stupid amount of hours anyway, an amount of hours you're just not going to find most people who got through Gold have.

It's a nice thought, you know, to pretend that you, or I, are super secret Predators, or just 'better than average', but if you've played a number of seasons, you'll notice the numbers don't lie.   It's like all the drivers on the road who are convinced other people drive badly.  If you get to Platinum, you are definitely better than average, and you killed people to get there.

Now...what you cannot do, because of the scoring system, in Platinum, is play the people at your same level, win more games than less, and advance.  What you have to really do is win a whole lot more games than people also at platinum rank, and kill a whole lot more of them, like I said above.  If you place, regularly, 7th with 1 kill against someone your same level, or 9th with 2 kills, you are losing points.  There's a lot of ways you can do the math but in the end if you are not killing a ton of people who are supposedly as good as you, or you are not placing very high, you aren't going past Plat IV.

So if you're wondering why all the 'hot drops' and 'dumb play', I'd recommend considering the people doing these things are actually smarter than you think.  They are either not caring because advancing further is pointless, or t
