@Cro_Pittt Yes, but that sort of head bang doesn't seem that obvious if you read the posts here on the forum. Apparently people don't advance to Platinum by actually killing people and winning games, they advance to Platinum by 'hiding', by 'being noobs', are 'bad players who don't know what they are doing' and basically didn't earn, in some way, their rank.
Which is nonsense, is my point.
You can't just go 'pick' a group of ranked players to eliminate from your stats. The only people eliminated from the stats are the people who don't play ranked. Some are good players, but I'd argue the vast majority of those who don't play ranked certainly aren't capable of playing in gold, platinum, or maybe even silver. So even if you play in Bronze, then you count...and if you don't play ranked, it only adds to the argument of those in higher ranks being even better than most players.
There's a lot of elitism that flies around here. I didn't say Diamond players weren't better than Platinum players, or even that a Platinum II player is better than a Plat IV (chances are they are far better, even in the same rank). The point is to dispel all those myths that get floated around, and to come up with a theory as to why a lot of Platinum players do play the way they do...and that is because of a flawed scoring system that encourages a particular kind of play at that level.
@KelRiever Mm i don't think so, it's just about being noobs at the game really (hiding or hot dropping are like two sides of the same coin). Oh and trust me a lot of players got to Plat only because they had a friend who carried them, of course they're not bronze players maybe, but without a great help they'd have reached gold at best. There's a significant difference between Plat and Gold and everyone can notice that, that's why tier demotion protection should be removed at least for Plat/Gold so maybe some players will start to play decently.
