just ea being greedy af per usual
leopards and spots brother. :P
People talking about cancelling need to chill.
It is a $10, yes it sucks to have to pay for something that was included before and it sucks to lose benefits from your subscription.
But if you are telling me you were paying a $108 only for something that costs $10, you need to re-evaluate your decision making.
That said
recently Microsoft Game pass for pc raised their price from $5 to $10, their reasoning was they included EA play (basic I am guessing)
That may be an alternative for those who are "OUTRAGED"
I mean you would get all the game pass stuff in addition.
And yes I agree it is a bad decision to try to sneak this is, they should have communicated it a season early so people could save their coins from the last battle pass and would not be forced to shell out $10 more on top of the pass. Very bad decision not to do this as people will remember you as greedy.

@Irres169 What we do with our money is not your problem.
you are not working for EA so don’t answer for them.
keep your opinion in your head

lol when did I answer for EA?
- 5 years ago@Irres169 yeah we all agree not telling us is a big issue that has burned me and a lot of people now.
The people who got the year sub prob calculated the bonus value the battle pass brought. I would have if there were more EA games I wanted to play. I got EA Play pro for one month to try out SW squadrons and buy apex coins at a discount. I let it renew because I saw S6 was included before so I thought S7 was gonna be too. I was gonna play more squadrons and get that BP. I saw more value on the BP than playing more squadrons tbh. It’s also kinda sad you only get a charm now? That really sucks.
Also Microsoft Game pass was $5 on pc because that was technically on beta. It was mentioned from the start that $5 was the beta pricing.- 5 years ago

@PastaGabe Good to know, I am probably keeping that one till January at least. Addicted to Flight Simulator more than I thought I would be. :P

Cancelling my sub as well. As someone else said, battle pass was #1 reason for keeping it, free games was 2nd. With battle passes it made the sub worthwhile as it paid for itself over the course of a year but now it won't. Most of the free games aren't worth it and I only tried them out. When this issue is combined with the extra grind on the battle pass, means I'll cancel.

$10 bucks? How many battle passes per year? 4? 4 x $10 is $40. Then you play other games, and share them with my kids. I put most of my play time on PC because pass was included and stuff doesn't transfer to console. If I was going to pay for the BP I would have been grinding on console not PC. I found use in it, and the most important factor was the $40 in battle pass. Without the $40 in Battle battle pass in no longer holds the value as I wouldn't buy any of the other games. I am sure on the surface your $10 argument sounds logical, but in practice it doesn't work. To me the battle pass was the #1 reason, the other free games were secondary. I found the value and made it work. Without the BP the value is no longer there for me

On top of removing PB from subscription, on face, and short play time this seems EXTRA grindy. Maybe it's just me, but I am a casual player, I don't want to have to play 5 hrs a day 6 days a week and be sweaty tryhard to complete BP. Again still early in the season, but not liking the feel. Seems it's money grab time, how many people going to shell out for levels now? Hope I am wrong

@BlastulaVernix Each battle pass earns you enough coins for the next one. So it is $10, once, forever. Until they change that too :P
I have had premiere pro since it started, every year.
I liked how it was too not disagreeing.

The battle pass is extra grindy, but doable for people who play daily and a lot.
For those that play more casually there is a legit gripe there, as you are paying for something you may never see the whole value for.
As for the value of the battle pass everyone generates that differently.
I prefer not to pay for Madden every year so it has value to me still.
And like I said it was nice to have the BP for Apex, they should have told us the season before so we knew to save the coins of the previous season.
But they didn't because money.
I'm not going to lie I spent more than $10 on this game just on the last 2 heirloom events. :P

You're out of touch on this.
From a yearly subscriber, that is a $60 dollar swing, $30 lost value and $30 to supplement the pass, if you decide to buy the passes. There are 3 seasons in a year. So you're now shelling out $138 and losing the value in the initial $108. I've already cancelled mine, but I was yearly, so I have until late next year if they do make this value available again.- 5 years ago
The one time $10 fee earns you enough to buy the subsequent passes. In the real world example of buying a battle pass, you would never pay more than $10, ever.
Unless something forces you to spend all the coins you earn.
Yes when someone gives you the battle pass for free and you spend all your coins it is a $60 value.
My point is if you say I am only getting EA Pro for the battle pass well then you are still paying $100 + taxes for something that you could have had for $10 or spent like crazy and had for $60.
Still makes no sense.
From another yearly subscriber.
- 5 years ago@Irres169 It has to do with utilization of benefits. If you over/under utilize that is what makes the difference. Even if you play one $50 in that year you're near over utilization. Especially with the dlc. It's still an ok value, but this execution and decrease in value is what matters.
