@hayhor How many games happened after Caustic's nerf and how does it look like for his playrate:winrate? Honestly I'm not surprised they haven't looked at Wattson yet. I noticed that Apex Legend's pros doesn't adapt as well as other game's pros. They like to stick to the same old meta and when it starts to shift, they start to throw a hissyfit and cry about nerfs.
The thing about pubs is that it's hard to get a good idea if the teams you're playing against are decent cause the skill level is really mixed. I've had games where the champ squad was a 3 stack preds but the teams I fought weren't really that great, some of them were even just standing still when shooting. A great way to see if Caustic is still as good as you guys claim he is, is to take him to rank and climb with him.

@Daze623 They have said his winrate hasn't really changed.
I'm not sure what my example and whether it was pubs or ranked has to do with anything. It was just my only example where I saw a difference. It was actually a better example than what you showed as the person should have died.
I don't play ranked much and when I do I play it like pubs. I'm not a fan of grinding for points if teammates die or watching teammates if I die.
I do have a friend who mains caustic in ranked. He made it to diamond pre and post nerf and said he hasn't noticed any difference. He is an aggressive player and does it solo queueing.
So we have you, who admitted you do not play caustic, saying he is useless now and many of us who play caustic saying they do not notice a difference.

- @hayhor Where did you get your info from? cause iirc his winrate told them he needs a buff and only held back cause pros were crying about him. Cause using pubs as an example regardless of the outcome is always gonna be scuffed. It's always better to use an even playing field(or atleast most of the time).

And I totally believe you have caustic mains complain. It is called politicking so they can get their main stronger. As a caustic main I hope he gets a buff. But I'm not going to lie and say the gas damage made him worse. I'll leave the politics to other people.
The best example I can give are wraith mains that complained caustic is a one button ability character. Yeah cause wraiths phase isnt one button that makes her powerful. Or bloodhound....a character that doesnt need to press a button to know there is someone near and then presses one button for a free wall hack. Or gibby, a character who aim at someone and has 60 free shield health. Every person that mains the characters will say they are not strong enough. - @Daze623 Wow we've really gone to the deep end trying to say he is worse. Bringing up my own personal character so now I'm done because clearly you are out of bullets. There are lots of people on this forum who have played and spoken with me that know I do not play the games you mentioned. There are nerfs (direct and indirect) that have hurt caustic far worse than the gas damage one.
I'm Caustic main, played him from season 0 and I can assure that he is weaker than ever now. It was dubious idea to take away blurre effect and buff damage of the gas, which I was totally against to, because its makes more accent on the damage instead of your positioning and aim, but okay and after they just took away damage too, really!? Its like took away from Gibby his shield immune and make it 300 hp durable or make Wraiths "q" work only in rooms. its just stupid...
@hayhorI really think you don't get why the Caustic nerf sucks.
Initially on Reddit some Devs (notably DZK) claimed this rework was about the fact that Caustics winrate is high but only ingames going over 20 minutes.
Then the nerf comes and is revealed to be an across the board nerf in all game states despite being only OP in one of them and DOES NOT do anything about the fact that his gas is unavoidable in the endgame.
Does that sound reasonable to you? If yes then you're the only one cause even DZK suddenly went from talking about his gas to being OP in the endgame to handwaving all criticisms pointing at the pickrate, which means that he either just lied about the intends regarding the rework or Respawn consciously disregarded every nuance, threw a lazy nerf-nuke when they knew they could do better and called it a day in his own event.- @BigBlackCaustic You are right. I dont get why this nerf sucks as bad as some say. It has not affected my gameplay other than 1 game I can think of.
The reasoning behind it sucks. That is true and I knew about it but the actual change had little effect on my games.
He has had much worse nerfs already. They can keep the gas damage. Give me the other stuff back now. @hayhorOr rework him at this point, i've seen so many good and out of the box suggestions by a lot of different types of players and they went with reducing the damage that was increased as a compensation for a massive nerf in the first place.
Little thought or consideration has been given and thats the point that sucks.
If they said that it was a temporary change till a better solution has been found then it would have been atleast understood. But they went for a nerf that completely misses the point, and DZK goes on Reddit for statements that can be summed up in a TL;DR as "We know we didn't do it properly and we have no intends of changing/fixing anything and don't care about your feedback lmao get ******".
Really inspires trust and hope in Respawn does it?
