Banned for No Clear Reason After Adjusting DPI in Firing Range
Hi there, hope you're doing well. I wish I could say the same for myself.
Today, I logged into Apex Legends to adjust my DPI and entered the Firing Range to do so. After making the adjustments, it was close to lunchtime, so I left the game open and went to eat. When I returned, I had been disconnected due to inactivity. I quickly reopened the game, and it loaded normally, but before I could access the lobby, I received a ban notification!
At first, I naively thought it might be due to the extended period of inactivity since I had left the game open, even though I found that absurd. Then, I looked it up on YouTube and saw people saying that EA only issues permanent bans! How is that possible? I've had this account for so long I don't even remember when I created it! It was hacked a few months ago, but I managed to recover it, and EA didn't ban me back then. So what’s the reasoning behind this? How is this even possible? Did I actually do something REALLY wrong without realizing it? Or is this just some bug, which I think is nearly impossible.
I just can't wrap my head around the idea that adjusting my mouse DPI could be considered cheating.
I also want to mention that English is not my first language, so I hope everything I wrote makes sense.
I submitted an appeal as instructed by support, but they said it could take up to 10 business days for a response, and I’m not even sure if it will be positive. I’m completely lost and heartbroken. I can’t believe I’m dealing with this kind of issue with a billion-dollar company. What should I do?
