Is there any written or video guide on how to do this? I tried googleing it with no success. Btw internet is absolutely fine and stable. Multiple games already game lags me out with Code: net error..
We do not have a video guide from our help articles, however our EA Advisors can help guide you through connection troubleshooting and answer any questions you have.
It's important to log into your router's admin panel (login information is usually on a sticker on the router itself) and check for the following:
- Check to see if your router needs a firmware update. This is not always done automatically
- Check for Mesh Networking. See related post here
- If you are able to enable IPv6, try that to see if connectivity improves by switching to that protocol
- Some routers have ports closed off by default. Opening these approved ports for EA games can help improve connectivity
- Check your QoS (Quality of Service) to prioritize gaming. Some routers have a gaming mode feature which can help prioritize bandwidth to gaming.
- If you are on a WiFi connection, try going wired to test and see if the problem is isolated to the WiFi network. If so, removing the WiFi connection from your PC/console and re-adding it can help. Some routers have different WiFi channels (2.4ghz and 5.0ghz) so swapping to the other one could yield different results
- If you are on PC, check to see if you have a Killer Network Card/Killer Control Center. See related post here
