Crossplay Friend Finding not working

So I wanted to add my nephew on Apex but when I search his username up it doesn't pop up it just says Not Found. I have read a post somewhere to this and there's no way me and him are on the same EA ...

There was some sort of delay syncing in the system or something because I was able to add my friend the next day and we are able to play together now.

i am also having issues connecting with my friend on ps5 from my pc. no cross play options. Not sure what's wrong as I can search for other console players. we both have our ea accounts searchable.
