Question Regarding Upcoming Cross Progression

Let me explain this in as simple a way as I can, I need an answer but I don't want to cause confusion.

There is an EA account, under that EA account there are TWO Apex accounts one that is from Origin/steam on PC and that account is banned. Now the second account is a Playstation account but that one is NOT banned. What will happen to the Playstation account when the merge happens ? This is the question everyone needs answered.

    I do not think that will work. If the PC has an active ban on it then you will not be able to log in from there. your console is still safe and the account merge will not affect it but it will also not override the PC ban. 

    You would have to reach out to the ToS to have the PC account ban overturned in order to access the account from both PC and console. 

    However if they were two totally separate accounts then it should be fine.

    If you have a PC/Steam account and an Xbox account both connected to the same EA account and the PC account has been banned, the Cross Progression migration will not remove the PC ban, or merge progress/content from the banned account. 

    This will result in your Xbox account being the primary account in this case, and if for example you linked a PlayStation or Nintendo Switch to the same EA account later on, you'd be able to access the Xbox content on those platforms as well. Your PC ban would still remain in effect, however, so you wouldn't be able to access this from PC while playing on this particular EA account.

    What this will not do, as @Asmodeus566 clarified, is take a ban from one platform and apply it to the other connected platforms.

    @EA_Mako Man that's really disappointing news. So because of a level 24 account that's linked to my level 1500 PSN account now I will never be able to enjoy my main account on PC because of a ban that happened years ago for having the wrong software on my PC while running Apex? I've waited years for cross progression. This literally crushed me.

    Hi @Sixblades,

    If there's a ban on the account, then it won't be taken into consideration for the merge process, right.

    If you haven't already done so, you can try appealing with our Terms of Service team, as this would be the only way to have a ban removed to allow for an account to be unlinked.

    If they had previously completed multiple appeals and declined to remove the ban, then I'm afraid this would be final.

    @EA_Mako I understand that but the banned account is level 24 and has never been used. I don't care if it gets merged that's my point, what would happen if I unlink my PSN account from this particular EA account and link my PSN account to another EA account ? Would I lose my PSN account progress ?

    Hi @Sixblades,

    Yes, that would cause your progress to be lost as progress is stored on the EA account, not the PSN account.
