- NazT554 years agoSeasoned Ace@Tank2042Man It has always been like that for the most part. When the new BF game comes out everyone starts praising how good the previous one was even though everyone took a dump on it when it was the current BF game to play. It will be the same with 2042.

@Lanc3_B0yL3sThe hate for BF3 had nothing to do with bugs and everything to do with the new direction of battlefield.
The complaints ranged from no commander mode, to linear flag layouts, one man armies and the overall casualisation of the game to appeal to the COD audience.
So it's incredibly ironic reading posts in this thread praising BF3 while attacking 2042.Oh I'm not praising BF3 by any means. I agree with the complaints about the loss of commander mode (I was complaining too) among other things. The most notable impact (in both BF3 and BF4) was the enormous amount of stupid bugs that took way too long to fix. We got used to the new playstyle relatively quick and still had fun for the most part, but man those bugs really pissed a lot of people off. I still think that 2142 and the original 1942 are tied for my favorite. My biggest criticism of this one is the loss of the class system and going toward this Fortnite-style character with cosmetic DLCs instead of just going with what made this series great. Basically, we didn't need another CoD or Fortnite, nor did we want one.
As of tomorrow morning at 6am local time I will be switching over to MW2 and play the occasional game of Fortnite with my 7-year old kid, because yeah, we already have those games. This game is just a lame copy of those. Battlefield should stop trying to be like them and go back to being Battlefield again. Bring back the classes, commander, get rid of self-healing vehicles and self-replenishing ammo on the aircrart (remember when you had to go back to the airstrip to get more bombs? no infantry farming aircraft back then). If you want customization, just let us change the skin/hair/eye color and build of the soldier, and maybe pick from a few different uniforms. I'm ok with selling them too, or paying a monthly subscription for a reasonable price if that's what it takes. Make Battlefield Great Again đ

- ATFGunr4 years agoLegend@Tank2042ManWhere do I rate it overall? I don't rate it at all as it's not a Battlefield game. As a Apex wannabe, it's last. As a Fortnight wannabe, it's last. The more recent attempt to make it like CoD... still last. Those games are all good at being those games. 2042 doesn't know what it is. I only know its not Battlefield.
