I also feel the maps in 2042 are a tad too big with not as much cover as I would like. manifest is the closest map imo to a battlefield map. Worse maps in 2042 is Kaliedoscope and breakaway. I just back out when they come up. Not a fan at all.
I would love to see them add Zavod 311 with 128 players and keeps its original size. Zavod is one of my all time fave maps.
@ghinavirusBreakaway is a strange map, the action will always flow to the cluster of flags in sector A normally pushes coming from C and B, the rest of the flags are too spread out.

@R1ckyDaMan19I will stay in the A flags and occasionally peak the C flag in breakaway. I am not going out on ice with all the OP vehicles to run me over and be inside a bowl for snipers to take pot shots. No cover I wont move on that map.
B is way too many angles to get shot from. There is no scoreboard so there is no need to push anything in this game. Find a spot you like and control it.

@ghinavirusYeah that's where I tend to drone on that map, always one of the 3 A's getting capped prompting a big push.
We need a w/l stat to make it matter.
- 4 years ago@R1ckyDaMan19 you drone i use prox sensors. Fantastic advantage in a game. And when I run Angel, I throw 2 prox sensors in direction people will flow from, they interact with my prox sensor ...no problem, I drop the resupply crate and well resupply again with 2 prox sensors. Its my cheese system. it works well because I can drop a crate when some try hard pilot wants to buzz me and take an alternate version of my class with the FX AA or whatever its called.
- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@ghinavirus Haha you know what I did to master the proxy balls, suicide proxy runs, run into the the area with loads of enemies and drop your balls, die everytime but damn that point feed.....
- 4 years ago@R1ckyDaMan19 I know right. Imagine if we had a scoreboard. I think everyone would run Angel. Revive points, Resupply points and enemy spotted points. I mean we havent even fired a gun yet and look at the points. Then when we revive we give the guy armor automatically. Its a hard specialist not to use.
- 4 years agoand that my friends is how one can climb a scoreboard in battlefield games without being a slayer.
- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@ghinavirus Tbf I think they need to make them not work after you die lol its a bit broke.
Anyway, errrm map design.... - 4 years ago
@R1ckyDaMan19Agreed. I will sit there when waiting for a revive(its not coming) and just rack up points with enemy spotted. Then they get eliminated and still get the same score. Yeah its flawed lol. Why I cheese it and why people cheese the PP-29. Cant hate the playa, gotta hate the game lol.
But yeah map design, i like the manifest.
- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@ghinavirus Yeah manifest is a balanced map.

I disagree that the maps are poorly designed. I wouldn't be against some additional cover in a few instances. There are a few bad respawn's on certain maps I would focus, but overall I think the maps are actually pretty good. One of those spots is around the D1 and D2 points on the Renewal map. (im pretty sure Its D1 and D2.) Where the buildings are on the east side of the map. This is one of the worst respawns in the game. If these points are contested, and you sapwn in, you are dumped in the middle of a grass field with no cover. Snipers and vehicles will just camp these respawns and just rack up kills. Hover crafts will just drive back and forth in this grassy area. People spawning in have no where to go, no cover, no escape. This is an area that does need to be looked at, because it is a clear problem. But this is a specific spawn at that location on the map. The map itself I think is actually a good map.
It is kind of popular right now though to throw critical thinking out the window and just take a negative dump on the game in all areas. Mob mentality. The steam reviews area good example of that. The maps are not bad though. Sure some could see some changes, tweaks, and adjustments, but I think most of the maps are good.
- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@XxKrazymagicxX yeah that's why I always have an insertion beacon down, avoids bad spawns.
- 4 years ago@XxKrazymagicxX I have been destroyed at that area you speak of by vehicles not long after a spawn. I havent spawned there a lot so I never paid attention to vehicles camping it to spawn trap. Great observation and now know where not to spawn. Thank you
- 4 years ago@R1ckyDaMan19 I love when a squad mate runs the beacon and uses it well. I personally have not been running it because that is an important slot I prefer to run something else. That is beside the point though. The spawns like I mentioned do need to be adjusted somehow. Its an obvious problem and Ive noticed it in many of the games on that map, people just spawning in at that location and just being mowed down before you can move 5 steps. You are just dropped in an open field. Not even a bush to hide in.
- R1ckyDaMan194 years agoSeasoned Ace@XxKrazymagicxX C flag is horrible for it, it spawns you out side in the middle of the road with them instantly ganking you.
