Amazed that I haven’t seen this mentioned yet..
Spotting/ pinging distant targets does not work properly since they introduced changes to spotting.
It worked before the update. Now it doesn’t.
When you ping a distant target to put a red dot over them, you can barely see the red dot and enemy info above them!
The red dot literally flickers briefly and then you an even see it!
This applies to both your own pings and pings performed by your squad mates.
You literally can’t see them!!
You end up having to look away from the pinged enemy to put them in your peripheral view to try and get the red dot to show up.
You end up location-pinging the ground next to the enemy just to show squad mates where you’re trying to ping.
Location-pings work fine and you can see them clearly as always.
Pinging nearby enemy seems to work ok.
But direct pinging of distant enemy is now broken.
I will say this yet again..
How the hell is it possible that an update like this can be pushed out when it doesn’t work?!
Dice obviously couldn’t even be bothered to test the pings. If they had, they would have seen that they don’t work.
Seriously, it’s like Groundhog Day with every update 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Weird, you've been seeing this for weeks now? I've been having no issues with regular spotting (on PS5).

Haven't noticed this either.
What I have noticed is that this spotting feature is a straight upgrade over the spotter gadget you find in the Nighthawk and some tanks.
You can still use the 'new' spotting feature while in the sitting seat. It has essentially zero cool down versus the 1-2 second cool down you find while using the gadget.

No, they've definitely changed 3D spotting with the latest patch.
Maybe it was intentional because you were able to spot enemies at very long distances with the first patch but now they don't spot.
Though it would make more sense if 3D spot had a range limit

Distant spots are barely visible. Literally almost invisible.
You get a vague flicker of a red dot - and that’s only when you look away from the target and put it in your peripheral vision.
