7% accuracy

99.5% of my face to face I lose.  They are like Quick time events, see enemy, press Q to auto kill.  Tap, Tap, Tap, dead.  3 hits seemingly no matter what the weapon, occasionally two other than one with vehicles.  No missing, so I would put 90%+ of opponents around 100% accuracy.

Good news - I tried the crossbow.  It is very good and I can get more kills than with an assault rifle, but it isn't viable to use a 28 RPM versus 300-850 RPM.  It makes litte or no difference face to face, you autodie whatever the weapon.

Being able to kill with this indicates my aim is on - I can see easily when I miss - and it is registering the 1hk damage, other than a very long range hit that didn't.

If you can hit - which a moving target is very difficult - it must be very annoying to die to it.

Recoiless rifle - Very good again, aim, hit, nooblicious enough that it one hit kills anyone and it is pure cheese, not a main but at least it beats an assault rifle.  Great to have a non-aimed antitank you can hipfire at vehicles.

Shotgun - swapped to slugs when I unlocked them and my accuracy want through the floor, back to 0.2/1, even when they didn't see me.  So I swapped back to buck and normal service resumed.

I looked at the spread of the buck and it is 4 pellets central and then four randomly spread outside. It would seem it takes 8-12 pellets from full health to kill and is generally reliable.

Spread of an SMG is clustered on burst and then climbs upwards on full auto, in theory if you shoot their feet it should run up the hit box to the head.  But that doesn't seem to happen.

I miss and am happy to admit it when I see it, no rage, I just missed and couldn't track the close, moving fast enemy or with the crossbow just missed as they were moving.  That works with anything but a bullet gun.

Bullet gun - 93% of my bullets evaporate somewhere - some must miss, but 93%?

There is no chance any opponent that sees me misses 93% of the time, I would be surprised of they missed 7% of the time.

@halo572I don't know what to tell ye. Maybe upload some of your game play? Are you playing on Controller or Mouse and Keyboard?

I know it's a fact that some AR's are way better and consistent than others and that attachments do matter.

Consider booting up a bot lobby and seeing the results of your accuracy there.

A few thoughts after reviewing your BF stats page.

• You've barely played, just two primary guns with more than 60 kills.  Play more. Unlock the attachments. Learn the recoil patterns. Spend some time in the Portal 'Noname' Aim Trainer.
• Your top two non-shotgun primaries are high PRM guns - AM40 and AC9.
  • High RPM guns typically trade in accuracy for DPS.  Try using the lower RPM options.
  • Hipfire kills make up over 50% of your kills.  Hipfiring comes with a huge accuracy penalty.  Try ADS'ing more.
  • There's a lot of hidden accuracy mechanics.  Study sym.gg.
  • Your accuracy with these guns is 10%, which is still terrible, but much better than 7%.  Typical accuracy would be closer to 18-25%.
• What is your setup like? 
  • Have you tried using your vintage 1996 trackball with your hands rather than your feet? Seriously though what mouse and mousepad are you using? 
  • Which monitor? How far away are you sitting from the monitor?
  • What FoV setting are you using? 
  • What is your typical FPS? 
  • What is your typical ping?
• Ignore the shotgun accuracy.
  • Shotgun accuracy can be over 100%.  One shell shoots 5+ projectiles.  If all projectiles hit you have 500%+ accuracy. I currently have 195% accuracy with the MCS-880.
  • With a shotgun you're likely operating in more CQC engagements - it's likely not an apples to apples comparison. 
  • The projectile spread makes it more likely to get a 'hit' even with the same poor accuracy.
• Give us a gameplay video.
  • I want to see what your playstyle is like.  Are you making good decisions between hipfire vs ADS?  Are you engaging at effective distances?  Perhaps mouse sensitivity is too high or too low.

I keep seeing statements like this on online shooters about older guys not beeing able to compete with younger people.

How old are you guys? Do you have arthiritis in your fingers or what's the problem? Im 38 and don't feel any difference from when I was a teen. If anything im better now than I was back then.

 @UP_LordPlumber       For sure your video shows that with your skill you have big advantages. Would be interesting if you can switch on the debug graphs (damage received,…) for one video. I see differences to what I experience: enemies are regularly marked when you look directly in their direction - you don’t call them out. This nearly never happens when I play. When you received damage (several hits - you had very low health) you still survived by dogging. I receive in more than 50% of my deaths double damage in one tick - no chance to dodge. Therefore the graphs would be nice. One time you are revived, your teammate is killed and you immediately kill the enemy after your revive. In such a situation me and my teammate normally die. I have no chance to counter after revive like that.

also it seems to me that sound of footsteps work for you - you actively search a few times for enemies. Footstep sounds are in general useless to me - even an enemy landing with parachute behind me can do this stealthy.

By the way - I started this series with BF1942 so I’m no stranger to tactics. After the first year I even liked BF V gameplay more than this crap.

Same as you, 38, but I do actually have arthiritis in one finger. In my head I still feel 20 but feel every year physically 😆

I'm going to up the ante on my 1337 MLG pro 5k1llz - in 100% of cases where I am seen by an opponent - be it a glimpse through to down to 1m I die.  Mostly instantly, with no hesitation and seemingly no delay to aiming or firing.

I might give myself the 0.01% who actually behave how I would expect a human to behave.

100% and even when an APC just glimpsed me between 2 containers as it drove past and the passenger killed me with a window of less than half (less than that? a quarter?) of a second with an explosive.

Container - small gap - container, they can aim, fire and kill with the gap of a small container as they pass at full speed.  I hardly saw them.

100% my friends is statistically impossible, but I achieve it because I am special.

Protip - if you want to improve your 'seen by an enemy for anything from a glimpse to shaking hands with them' encounters - stop playing.

So basically - the only way I can kill an opponent is when I have not been rendered on their screen or registered anywhere that they have seen me, otherwise by default I die.

SMG laser accuracy is what I usualy on PS5 players. Probably some aim assist 

@Adamonic   Thank you, that makes a massive difference and not a setting I would have ever considered.  As a PC player reducing your FOV makes no sense as it is a console limitation, but it seems that running at 1920 and reducing your FOV to 55 makes it 'playable'.

I play 2 BF2042s, the first where I am seen by an opponent and I am looking at 0.2/1 K/D, I stand nearly zero chance to kill them, although using iron sights and trying to quick aim I have actually killed twice.  That wasn't working before and hip firing is of no use even with attachments.

The second is when I am not seen when I can look to 3-4/1, I can see where I am missing and also where I hit.

Combine them and I come out around 1-2/1, although it can still drop to 0.2 in a whole round.

0.2-4/1 is a massive and inexplicable variance and I will continue to try to divine the mysteries of why what I see on my screen is not what is happening, although in the meantime I have laid out rare and exotic herbs and spices from far distant lands in offering to the Gods of Gaming in the hope that I curry their favour and that they may bestow upon me the heroic power of smiting instantly any enemy that my gaze comes to rest upon no matter the measurement in metres.
