@killroywuzhere03It should be the king of the Sky, but it should not kill infantry because this is just a game. So you trade air-to-air for air-to-ground (except for ground vehicles). Pick a chopper or a plane.
I doubt they will add new vehicles now. They are in such deep s*** that they have the customization skin for "drones" with only the ranger and no customization option. This game is, to this date, almost 2022, definitely not ready to launch.
However, the speed and maneuverability must not be so real, and lock on stingers or flaks should take on planes to take it out of the skies and allow infantry, tanks and choppers to move on.
So it cannot be invincible.
Besides, if you ever flew a plane, and I did, you know that, in real life, you can never do the turns you do on BF without changing the speed and stalling a plane. Planes in BF never stall, you never lose control of it. It is too easy to control and there should be a bit more physics to it, especially acceleration/deceleration. It should shake AF at high speed, and should risk not rising to a high speed when starting at low speed, low altitude. It cannot be at 100 mph, then simply turn 45 degree up and blast and boom, accelerate to 500 mph then take a vertical 90 degree attitude. It should not even allow a 45 degree angle from low speed as if it was stable in horizontal position at 200 mph maintaining the attitude.
The Panther/Puma I mention above is the exception. The Panther would be a Hybrid that is able to somewhat attack air targets and somewhat attack ground targets. The Panther would excel at killing primarily Choppers but would be at a disadvantage against a Dog Fighter in the sky (Raptor/Felon).
The player would have to pick which to use however which creates meaningful choice. If the enemy team is crushing the ground with choppers then maybe a Panther is the better pick. If the Enemy team is killing your choppers and other air vehicles because of their air dominance. Then using a Raptor is the better option.
The Panther itself while "able" to kill infantry, can only do so with their Cannons or the rocket pods. They are much less maneuverable than a chopper. They are not equipped with bombs or other devices that allow them to attack from a distance. So if you want to kill infantry in the Panther, your going to have to get up close and personal (high risk/high reward). Which gives the infantry a chance to react. That combined with the length VTOL disengage. Your basically a sitting duck so you need to be sneaky with your approach and get out quick.
The major problem right now, is that you have two fighter jets that should be equal in strength leaving victory to whoever is the more skilled pilot. However, it is laughably obvious that the SU Felon has a superior advantage over the F-35. I get what they were trying to do by nerfing the Panther's turn speed. However they did not test this enough to realize just how debilitating their change was.
As for Infantry countermeasures against jets. I honestly believe if you can land a stinger on a jet. It should one shot it, and if not; get damn close to doing so... specially "dog fighters". Dog Fighters are glass cannons. Fast, agile, dangerous, but when hit they shatter. There are a million ways to balance the air and ground issue. I just believe this is one of the best ways to start imo.
