Doesn't surprise me. DICE is likely using bots as a Band-Aid to fix their crappy matchmaking system. I doubt BF2042 will have a server browser. It'll probably have BFV's failed matchmaking system where the servers are filled with human players at the start of a round, and as human players drop out midway through the round, bots will fill those empty slots.
By the end of the round there will probably be more bots than humans in the server.
If the beta test can't keep servers completely filled with human players throughout the entire round, then I'll have to pass on BotField 2042 and look for online games that offer a true player vs player experience.
If they continue to be stubborn on the subject as Dice Sweden often is, I do think there should be a cut off for the bots. Like if there's 96 real players (75%) on the server, there shouldn't be any bots at all and you should be able to choose whether or not you want to be matched into a low player count server.
Bots also need to be easily identified by their nametags so you know when the server is mostly bots to then switch server.
@Noodlesocks Might be happening already. From a quick scan-read just now, the article does state that there are modes without bots and there is a cut-off of 64 bots for 'the main event' (guess that's Conquest/Breakthrough):
"and if you truly hate bots, you’ll be able to play other modes. But the main event allows up to 64 “AI soldiers” to help fill a game, depending on your region, platform, and how many real-life humans are available to join up".

I really hope that's not the case! Server browser is the best thing about BF
