Accuracy Nerf is Insane

What more do I have to say?  To really get an idea of how bad this nerf is, grab an AC-42, use single fire, and tap fire it at a target at 200m, if not 100m.  This is an insane change of pace to this game.  The AC-42 used to be able to counter-snipe when tap firing as fast as the weapon would allow... now it probably won't even win a firefight in the range it should be good at.  Most other AR's are the same.  There's a few weapons that don't feel like they got hit too hard, but there's definitely some that got beat into submission.  It doesn't feel like the SFAR got hit really hard as it's already pretty accurate and it's TTK is quick enough the dispersion doesn't take it's full effect, so I think a lot of people are going to move back to it.  While I'm glad I probably* won't get beamed by weapons like the RM at over 100m, this is still a bit of a ridiculous nerf for some of the AR's.

I think the 15-20% nerf is insane, especially for some maps.  A 5-10% would arguably make a better difference with how quick the bullets start dispersing.  If they keep the 15-20%, it really has to hit those extremes at the end of a mag, and not halfway through a mag.  The single fire modes should extend how long it takes for the bullets to start dispersing, then their current position of just inheriting the full auto traits.  The maps are too big and usually too open to just not shoot at people or try to burst fire and calculate when to shoot again to actually hit the person you're looking at.  Plus, there's so many other weapons in this game that are going to take full advantage of AR's no longer going to be able to hit anything and I think it's really going to start giving other weapon classes unfair advantages.  I guess we'll have to wait and see what people start figuring out to really make a decision, but this is going to get interesting.

*side note: they still didn't fix this gun, so it's going to happen anyways.

  • The increased dispersion should only apply to full auto mode imo; single- and burst-fire should NOT be affected by the spread changes. Also, accuracy nerf on the AC42 does not make any sense because it has a low fire rate with a long delay between its bursts (300 ms).

Gonna do some testing later, did not really give the ARs a proper try since latest update came out...

A good player I was on with tried the AC42 last night (UK time).
    DICE murdered it.
My guess they just blanket changed any and all assault guns without putting two seconds of thought into just what they were doing.

With the hitreg issues and now the accuracy nurf this game has become a sloppy mess.

Yeah same man. I don't get it. Gun still feels a tad OP if you ask me

Instead of fixing the RM68 dice decided to make Assault rifles useless and now the lead weapon designer is saying they want to pigeonhole LMGs into having to use bipods for accuracy.

How can these people be so goddamn clueless, it's beyond ridiculous.

Good, that's how it should be and I hope it carries over the all guns that are not sniper rifles. Assault rifles aren't supposed to be accurate at long range. If there's one thing I hated as an aggressive bolt-action rifle user it's the fact that assault rifles could very easily outsnipe me at 100+m range and I would lose firefights that I should've won, it's also one of the main reasons why I don't enjoy the game and stopped playing it. Finally the gun balance is getting turned around in the proper direction, although I would not have chosen for dispersion, but a massive recoil increase for all non-sniper weapons.
