Add a server browser
DICE, please add a server browser. I cannot find matches in my region(India). I am just stuck on the waiting for players screen and the match never starts or there are only 20-30 players in a match. ...
We need a proper Server Browser / Persistent Server System for the good of our sanity.
I find the current system of not having a Server Browser / Persistent servers in AOW to be totally frustrating.
I personally am fed up with all this hanging around in menu's to be put in a map of MM's choice, especially when many times you join at the end of a round.
Then you have the luxury of being dumped back to the menu after every single round to start on the merry go round all over again.
I was put in Kaleidoscope 4 or 5 times during yesterday because MM decided I needed to play it over and over.
I want to be able to join a server of my choice and stay on that server and play through the complete map rotation like I was able to in previous BF's
What happened to player choice ?, who thought it would be a good idea to force players to play the game the way MM decides.
Also the fact that many players in different regions are reporting daily that they cannot even get into a match at all should be reason enough for DICE to sit up and take notice of where BF2042 is heading.
Think how much easier life would be for Clans / Squads / Parties to play together if we had a decent Server Browser / Persistent Server system. !
We all paid for this game, please let us play it the way we choose and add a Server Browser / Persistent Server system in AOW.
I start to believe that this is some sort arrogance they have.
Like: This is how you connect to a server...deal with it. This is how we designed our unfinished maps ...deal with it. This is Batllefield 2042..deal with it.
Now that they see alot of people left playing their game and alot are legit complaining, they forced to do a turn around.
And then do this with (what i see) a "attitude" and giving us the crap about legacy and expectations.
Then there is the problem that this game ask to much of your system, that can be both on console or pc. Why...why so much for a game which has less content, graphics and performance then other older and newer games.
.
I'm not a tech/code nerd, but i believe that this is not the way you make a proper game.

Yes they have definitely made a lot of strange decisions.
I can't really understand why anyone thought it would be a wise idea to change so much / leave out so much, and not expect a player kick back.

Thanks for your support. 🙂

Again it comes down to a game, being designed to be a BR, does require MM before every round.
But as they have a server browser and persistent servers and everything for portal it is also beyond me why they don't activate this for AOW.
Yeah you and me both m8, imho MM is a massive retrograde step compared to previous BF's and needs to go. !
Please feel free to add your own thoughts, for or against getting rid of MM in AOW.
It is obvious I am not a fan but I am interested to see if there are are enough valid reasons for keeping MM as opposed to reverting to a proper Server Browser / Server System that we had in previous BF's.

Hi m8, enjoyed our brief encounter in game earlier you are the first player from the forums I have actually met up / played with in BF2042 in game. 🙂
I was looking forward to a playing second map with our same squad but we got separated at the end of the round.
Not sure whether it was due to good old MM or if you had to leave.
I am sure if DICE ever get rid of MM and replace it with a proper server browser / persistent server system, all players / squads will have a lot more fun as they will be kept together through the whole map rotation instead of being separated after every round.
We can only hope it is SOON. 😃
I am actually surprised they didn't go the route of server browsers and having to rent out servers to make extra money. Unless they thought they could make more money with a live service, a battlepass, and skins.
It absolutely needs a server browser

I absolutely agree with you. 😃
Totally agree. Me and my mates are hoping we can host our own dedicated server at some point in the future. Dedicated servers allow for a community to form as people meet play on the same servers and run into each other time and time again. Just more fun having some sort of relationship to the person you just destroyed or the guy you went out of your way to revive.

Exactly, that community spirit is just completely lacking in BF2042 and as a result the player base is rapidly dwindling.
Without a proper server browser and persistent servers players are never going to be able to build these relationships that were the backbone of previous BF's.
As I have said before BF2042 seems soulless in comparison.
DICE need to act quickly to save BF2042 otherwise season one will be a non event.

@RayD_O1Lol where you been the last months of the hue and cry for persistent servers? It may not save the game, but it sure won’t hurt. Their experiment has failed spectacularly, I’m hoping they’ll figure it out.
Where have I been. ? Where have you been ? 😃
I have been right here since the game launched, and like so many other like minded players we have been asking for this daily, !!
Just because I raised a new thread doesn't mean I have suddenly just noticed the problem, quite the opposite in fact. Some people are probably sick of the number of posts that I and many others make on this subject, 🙂
But we will continue daily to ask DICE to replace MM with a Server Browser / Persistent Server System. And we will try to keep this topic to the forefront and therefore introduce new threads / posts accordingly.
Yeah persistent servers, server browser is needed BADLY. Can't believe these were ever removed.
When do I rent my own server, so I could avoid being thrown between AI lobbies?

Egg-zachary!

Yeah agreed, I wonder who thought it would be a good idea to force us down the MM route.
I haven't heard many players saying they prefer it or give any valid reasons as to why it is better than a Server Browser / Persistent Server system.
Back in the days of BFV development, when they were first getting rid of rental servers, I was among those fighting for server browser and being able to rent from 3rd party rental companies, but DICE was hellbent on getting rid of that freedom. Then there were those who didn't want flexibility and their reasons were, 'badadmin'. Well, they got their way, and here you are. MM, in PC gaming. Sucks doesn't it.

Yeah BIG time, as you have probably guessed MM is my number one pet hate as it just frustrates me on so many levels. ☹️
Would be nice to know if this was something they were considering....

@Ironhead841If they were willing to communicate, even just tweeting and hopefully we notice (I’m not on Twitter) it would be nice to know if they will ever do a server browser. At least let the hope die, and maybe I could move on rather than lingering like a bad smell.
I agree, I am not on Twitter either but any form of communication would definitely help.

Yes indeed, even a few words on the subject just to give us something to feel positive about.
It does get hard to stay positive when you feel like you are posting daily and wondering are they even listening.
I just hope that there are community managers reading these threads and passing on our feedback.

Just reposting this to reiterate the fact that players would really appreciate some feedback from DICE as to whether they have plans to scrap MM and replace it with a server browser / persistent server system. ?
@GVlXxfI am glad MM is currently working for you unfortunately it is not meeting the needs of many players. There are many reasons why I feel we need a server browser in AOW and I would refer you to the basic summary from the first post on this thread :
We need a proper Server Browser / Persistent Server System for the good of our sanity.

This is just one of the threads currently asking for this there are many others also requesting MM to be replaced. If DICE replaced MM it would help a lot of players who are struggling daily to join matches and to be honest I don't think it would adversely harm anyone's experience if they brought in a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers System like we had in previous BF's .
