I’m a huge battlefield fan and I’d love to be able to lock a vehicle if I’m the first person to access that particular vehicle. Sometimes I’m having success in a location I choose and a team member takes the seat and completely ruins my positioning by driving to another area, causing a loss of more kills. It would be very realistic to allow the occupant of a vehicle to choose to lock that vehicle to prevent additional access. I’m sure real life talks and other vehicles can be locked so please add it to the game. I’ve seen talented players who use vehicles effectively and it’s all taken if the ability to lock the doors isn’t added.

@ElliotLHPersonally I find that the easiest workaround to the issue of blueberries taking over the driver seat and driving it into oblivion is to be the driver myself to give the vehicle a good position and then hope that the player who spawns on the gunner seat will be able to appreciate how I provided them with a great opportunity to rack kills.

Battlefield should be a team based shooter, locking vehicles to prevent teammates entering is quite the opposite, so a no for me.

@UP_Hawxxeye Sounds like a great solution to me. I'd be quite happy doing that myself. I used to play BFV with someone who did that in most matches, and it usually worked well.

Inconsiderate people driving a helpful vehicle to the wrong place is not a new thing in BF games
Here is the BFF episode and here is the personal experience from BF Hardline where I edited the BFF audio in there to show how similar it is to the parody episode.
But as much as these players are annoying, I can imagine that locked doors would lead to even worse cases of inconsiderate or even malicious actions.

Going with the nos on this one as it sounds like you want to lock team-based vehicles like the LATV or MAV, since the driver controls the main weapons for tanks and the Wildcat.

I agree this is a team effort in this game however consider the realism in this game as some of us play using strategy that benefits the entire team when a sole player effectiveness clears paths for his team mates. So with that said I still believe a door lock option would be great. It doesn’t suggest that it would be over used nor is it taking away from a team’s objective of winning as a team. How about whoever obtains access as driver has the ability to enabled position lock which enables the driver to then safely change seats as a gunner without a team maté randomly pulling off. Once killed or exiting the vehicle the position lock becomes available to use by the next driver. Compare it to a sniper. Would it be nice if a team member could change thier position that’s being affective at assisting the team?

I feel my the simplest of anti grieving measures are called for. I can’t count the hundreds of times in BF I’ve spawned a vehicle only to have some griefer hop in the drivers seat and take off as I’m out forless than 10 seconds repairing or reviving someone.

The simplest fix I see is locking the drivers seat for 60 seconds once the person that spawns the vehicle hops out. As in hopping out to repair via repair tool, drop ammo or revive a squad mate. After 60 seconds anyone can hop in driver’s seat.

As far as multi crewing w friends, the person that spawns the vehicle or person in drivers seat could have the option to kick anyone from any station of the vehicle.
