I haven't had deploying the bipod change my fireate ever.
Maybe deploying bipod and switching firemode have accidentially been bound to the same button/key?
But I agree with the OP that it's quite unpleasant that we have to redeploy it everytime we respanwn or we get revived. Maybe they could add a feature that you can keep your bipod deployed all the time if you want.

What's happening is when the bipod is selected, I always have to put it down after spawn/respawn. If I get revived, it also goes back up again, and I have to put it down again it does not stay down. Even after I die if you look at the gun thr bipod is back up again. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or on purpose. Because, I thought if the bipod is up and not deployed you get more hip fire?
As for the for the fire rate, I'll have to wait for it to happen again to confirm. But, yes it changes automatically to single shot after I die and respawn. I play on PS5 so I know it could be accidental. But, I tested it before and remember it was not accidental. I've just learned to put up with this type of 💩 for long lol.
- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@D-Man3847I feel yah, there have been so many strange decisions in the game as well as so many bugs, it can be hard to tell the difference. I can tell you that the bipod stays deployed for me when prone or standing, however it does revert to “up” if I die and respawn. For a long time the weapons would revert to their base, either auto or single fire on respawn, but they fixed it a while back. Does console have the option to set a default condition? I found there are a number of posts in the bug forums about the issue, so it does seem like intended behaviour. Are you finding the bipod reverts after say changing to pistol, or dropping an ammo bag? That seems to trigger the bipod to a closed state. The only recoil reduction is when the bipod is deployed and you ADS. If you’re not scoped in, it doesn’t help.

@ATFGunrXsX here. No comment on the deployed status, as I don't use the bipod.
However, on Xbox at least, Deploy BiPod (or switch to launchers) is hold down "Down" on the + pad. But, press down the "Down" button and it switches firing modes.
Many Many times I have "deployed" the underbarrel, only to find I didn't hold it down long enough, and switched from auto to single fire.- 2 years ago

Holding down on the D pad enables the bipod and vice versa. Pressing once on the down d pad switches fire rate. Which sometime cause the rate to change and not switch the bipod status. There is some lag for it to start working. It should be a different button to change fire rates of be able to lock the fire rate.
