Just played my first few rounds of the 1.2 update.
Tracking players moving left/right is no longer met with the aim resist bouncing effect. Getting the crosshair on target feels more natural now. There's still a bit of wonkiness in there if the player quickly doubles back or starts juking (aim assist doesn't track perfectly and trying to correct is met with stiffer than expected inputs). I suspect most players will be better off dialing down the aim assist.
Aim assist generally feels unremarkable now. Nothing amazing. Nothing awful. It feels 90-95% as good as the BF1/BFV aim assist.
I did have one bizzare situation with full auto sprays on the LCMG. Recoil control was just wild - what should have been a pretty easy shot ended with me barely being able to keep the target in the reticule. I'd try to correct the recoil and get nothing, nothing, nothing, EVERYTHING. It felt like my inputs were binary and not analog. I changed some settings and attachments and it behaved itself in later games. I'll try to re-create that later and submit a bug report. I've seen similar complaints on reddit.

Today I've noticed that it's been mostly console players that I die immediately to.
I'm a twitchy player. So I'll jiggle peek out of cover, I'll get hit with the first shot, I instantly try to get back into cover while crouching and hitting my keys quickly as possible. Nothing That I do matters. I die behind cover after only receiving that first shot. It's happened at least a dozen times today if not more.
