Aim Assist on BF2042 is still trash. I'm on PS5. Everytime I go up against console player I have no issue killing them but when I go against PC players I get wrecked almost everytime. And for those that complain about Aim assist being on console, it is absolutely necessary. It is so much easier aiming with a mouse than with a joy stick.
It has to do with the crossplay netcode + 45hz servers when you are on a PC. As @Oskool_007 points out here, the 45hz tick rate causes issues because it is not divisible by anything else cleanly. So you literally lose frames. Consoles are a little more consistent with common hardware across the board, however, they may feel the same thing towards PC players (because the same thing is happening to them in opposite).
If only M&K on consoles were supported....
