You are correct in that everything is out of sync. Nothing runs or updates at a consistent rate or a rate that is evenly divisible by another. Mouse input is one speed, monitor refresh rate another, fps another, server tick rate another, client update rate another.
They would've been better served going with 30 and 60Hz servers, but they went cheap and went with 20 and 45Hz. Nothing updates 22.22222ms other than the 45Hz server tick rate. So if you think about it, all weapons RoF, and TTK have to be tuned to fall within 22.22222ms windows. That is basically going to cause massive desync in every interaction.

What I don't understand is how I get the occasional good connection.
Most games I play where say the BSV is only capable of killing 2 at most per 20 round mag (sometime only one)
Then occasionally I find myself killing 3+ people at distance with ease. Not just that but I don't get shot around corners and every thing just feel so much more snappy.
Then the next map loads and that feels like a dream of a distant pass.
I once ran into cover, started to reload, then died to the person that had, apparently, already killed me.- RMEChief2 years agoLegend

The LAT is your ping, and the ALAT is the average of everyone's ping. If the LAT and ALAT is close, it normally feels better, but if the ALAT is more than double the LAT, you will have issues.
