I think he has a point.
Considering that I still play classic maps from BF 4, I think this makes the bad map design in 2042 obvious. Im sensing some kind of fatigue myself with them. An di agree, that events like on Siege of Shanghai, kept that small map going for years. I mean think of how simple that map actually is. But its still fun. Why? Simple good map design and something interesting happens. I think the weather effects in 2042 are a missed opportunity to change the maps during gameplay. I will post another topic on that because i had a few cool ideas on that subject.
Most likely, we wont be seeing new maps til early spring of '22. (my guess). I would suggest to Dice, they should do something like closed quarters, meaning 64 players or less maps for the next batch. 128 player count maps im assuming take a long time to develop. Include TDM and RUSH and add server browser, some new skins and a few new weapons - that would be a killer update.
