An idea to extend the life of Breakthrough on Exposure

OK, so we now have a real BF map in Exposure. It's the map they should have introduced from day 1, we all know that. However, at some point, we are going to get bored of playing the same map, especially on BT. To prolong the enjoyment of this map, take the pressure out of having to introduce new, equally good maps, is to make variations of the same map and put them in rotation.

What do I mean by that?

Currently, Exposure BT has A, B1, B2 and C points. The map is huge, many areas are being underutilised. Why not have variations of  BT but with different capture points. For instance, the valley is non-existent for this game mode. Why not create a push through the valley, or indeed across the top of the plateau only. Different spawn locations and end point depending on the variation. Different vehicle options to avoid vehicle spamming, etc. e.g. "valley push" is ground vehicles only.

We now have 3 variations of BT on one map. The maps are huge, they can take it. The second step, to keep engagement high, would be to put these 3 variations into one playlist of 24/7 BT Exposure. That would not only introduce an element of uncertainty as to which variation you will be playing (remember, "variety is the spice of life") but would allow the Dev's to implement features we all want.

And as the maps are huge, all of them, why not roll this out to the other base maps, after reconstruction?

What do you guys think?

  • @IndigoRain Sounds like a nice idea to me. It'd be interesting if there were dynamic capture points. It'd also work nicely on Orbital - I've felt since release that the area with the tower and gas containers (C sector in Conquest) would have been good for Breakthrough.

It would work on any map. Even if you reversed the flow. you have an extra map. It's ludicrous that this isn't a thing on these huge maps. This is particularly the case now that BT is 64p only. Use the map, all of the map. I mean I would love to try a no-chopper push through the valley on Exposure. That part of the map is brilliant. You have the ravine, a road, maybe throw in a few more trees for cover. Restrict it to land vehicles only, it would be good I think. If you reverse it, you have an additional map. That's 4 iterations on one map using one extra location.

And doing this would help the Devs to create a truly spectacular next map, which lives up to Exposure, by giving them breathing room.
