@LlamaWithKatanaAgreed with you on this. I really don't even like Sundance, but her, Dozer and Lis are the only ones I haven't T1'd.
With Exposure, I finally resigned to trying to get her done. Now they are making it even harder to accomplish an already difficult assignment. Not that I don't like a little challenge, but there is a difference between a challenge and needless grinding. I was working on Irish for a month and was only 1/2 way to T1, then S1 came out and I finished in a week because there weren't that many CQB opportunities to use his APS before Exposure. Same thing with trying to get kills with the scatter grenade, and now they nerfed it. ridiculous.

Mastery should be tied to natural game play with that Specialist. However, in some cases you have to play differently to achieve Mastery, which is counter to the concept as a whole.
For Irish, what is odd is one of his 2 gadgets doesn't actually provide any XP or progression towards Mastery. While other Specialists, you can actually use general tools/gadgets to obtain their Mastery without ever using their specific trait (Rao w/ SOFLAM).

And pockeball. Also as Falk you can only res and get it naturally without touching special gadget. Mackay uses just normal weapon and having high ground gives the progression (I think even heli kills counts but not sure).
