What do you mean by "Tanks will be too weak" exactly. From what I have read about the upcoming update, there was no mention on making tanks weaker. Is there any official word on that.
The only information we have so far is to make them less frequent and therefore less annoying to the normal infantry by increasing the respawn timer to 120s and grouping the Bolte along with the MBT and other attack vehicles.
But what exactly was the official statement that makes them any weaker? Not saying that it is not the case, but I just did not read anything about that at all. Was there anything about turret turn speed, weapons damage, armor, ... that would would make them really weaker?
And as far as grouping the Bolte with other attack vehicles, I guess nobody in their right mind would consider the Bolte a 'transport vehicle', given the weapons they can equip at the moment. So I agree 100% with grouping them into the attack vehicle category (either that, or remove the OP weapons).

A longer respawn timer is definitely a change that reduces any impact a tank can ever have overall. It adds one new bullet point to the list of reasons of "Why bother using a tank?"

I did not miss that. But it does not make the tank weaker. It fixes a clear bug with those grenades (that I think should not be in the game at all -- but that is besides the point). I even want Sundance to not be in the game if possible. Even though I know this will not happen.
In any case, right now, not mention of making tanks weaker. Those grenades did not do much damage anyway (IF they hit for once), so I'd still prefer to EMP + C5 combo them as before, which was effective IMO.
So yes, a tiny bit weaker in comparison if you consider the fix to the grenades, but not making them TOO weak. But maybe we are still missing some official word why others think they really get a nerf next patch.- UP_Hawxxeye4 years agoLegend@DuaneDibbley
Well I am a bit concerned that the 17 to ~22 damage per anti armor grenade will easily add up with how many Sundance players can be in the vicinity.
At least with the way the tanks and their countermeasures work now, this will mean at least 34 easy, nearly damage to the tank from every Sundance player nearby + the ensuing part disable.
Usually people do not carry a rocket launcher or c5 because they want to carry something else. The anti armor grenade just requires for the very popular Sundance to be the specialist of choice regardless of the rest of the kit.
The good news in all this is that finally the APS gadget of Irish will see a lot more action due to being able to protect nearby vehicles from Sundance grenades.

@DuaneDibbleyIn terms of balance, when you make everything stronger, you make something else weak without touching it, as all is relative. In comparison with other BFs, tanks in 2042 are weaker. Now they buffed other things and doubled respawn.
Yes, there was official word: 1- on Sundance's grenade properly tracking the target, as we know it would follow helicopters far away when you want it to track a tank. 2- This is speculation: Rao and Paik traits will be tuned. We know Rao sucks and he hacks vehicles and people, but sucks on both tasks. Therefore, I speculate that Rao's hacks will be buffed.
Finally, by doubling the respawn time they don't nerf the tanks itself but the tank's presence, which is basically the same thing. This is especially relevant because tanks were not threatening enough already.- UP_Hawxxeye4 years agoLegend
@A-RAF2019well to be honest the tweak on Rao will be on his ability to spot enemies with his special and not on disabling vehicles.
Aka the joke skill of "spotting nearby enemies if he hacks them before killing them"

Yes, that would be the case. But so far we only have word on a clear and necessary fix for the Sundance grenades. And as I said: I would like those (together with Sundance, Boris and Mackay and if I could have it my way all the other specialists) to be removed completely.
If you say they are making 'everything stronger': what is being made stronger exactly? More damage for C5 or the M5? Or longer duration of EMP grenades? What is being made stronger that makes tanks weaker in comparison. I currently ONLY know about the stupid grenades. And yes, if they finally do what they should and hit the tank 1m in front of you instead of flying off to some heli 1 million miles away, this would mean some more damage to tanks. But to me, this is just a fix for a bug and no balance change to make them stronger.
I am an infantry only player myself, so I might have a biased opinion. But unless we have really some official word on which weapons get a buff against tanks or we read about some armor nerf for tanks, I stand by my statement that there is in fact nothing so far to make tanks weaker. We have to wait for the patch notes I guess to see what is really being done.
- UP_Hawxxeye4 years agoLegend@DuaneDibbley Is it not annoying how they are withholding the full patch notes until the eleventh hour?
