APS36 vs C5 vs Explosive Bolt @DICE

Yesterday it was already very late when I unlocked the Explosive Bolt and I probably did not take the problem properly to the knowledge. But the Explosive Bolt is recognized and taken out by the APS36 Sentry. Which is quite sobering when you only have 10 bolts and it takes fore ever on an ammunition crate (It seems that this thing counts as grenade….)

Thus, these bolts are pretty much taken out of the game, because in the situations where they would be most useful, they bring nothing to the table when you defending or Attacking of a Point.

So, I need to ask the question why this bolt is recognized by the APS36 but not thrown C5?

It is already hard to hit a moving target at 100+ meters but just not triggering when you hit an enemy and then they only need to steps close to an APS is kind stupid.

If the explosive bolt is destroyed by the APS, then thrown C5 should be recognised when it is thrown a distance more than a meter, this also would reduce C5 the spam a lot.

Also, the ingame description is as follows: “APS36 Shootdown Sentinel – This compact system automatically tracked and intercepts any incoming grenades and missiles in its immediate vicinity”

So, if I take this text the explosive bolt should not tracked and intercepted it is not a grenade or a missile (related to the ingame description it is an explosive casing attached to the bolt's tip, so it is still a bolt 😉)

So, @Dice please look into it this, the Explosive Bolt is not like a grenade for a grenade launcher this should be more similar to a projectile of a Sniper rifle. And with a bolt count of 10 and a hit rate of around 40 % no one will play this bolt when half of these bolts also gets killed by an APS36.

    Here my results including my experience and things that I found in online research for what the APS will block:

    Blocked by APS: 

    Frag Grenade

    Smoke Grenade (Why ?)

    Incendiary Grenade

    Explosive Bolt

    Proximity Ball (Why ?)

    M5 Rocket (not tested by myself information is found online)

    Not Blocked by APS:

    C5 (Why is this not destroyed?)

    Anti-Vehicle mine

    Every projectile from ground vehicle

    Every projectile from air Vehicle

    Untested or no Information found (yet):

    Grenades from under barrel launcher (I think they will get destroyed)

    You can hack the APS with Casper drone and Rao, but the hack of Casper is much shorter than from RAO.

    So, you need to throw the grenade in a short time frame because when a grenade is thrown and lying in the range of the APS when it comes back online it instant kills the grenade.

    @CloverDeuceyeah, i know i forgot to put it in like the AA which also get destroyed when it fly’s thru the range of an enemys APS

    But these are missiles and I’m ok with it but I don’t understand why an Explosive Bolt will be get destroyed, this is one of thre different main ammunition types of a main hand weapon. This should not be cancelled by an APS.

    No other primary ammunition from a main infantry weapon gets cancelled by APS.

    I played some more with the Ghostmaker and the Explosive Bolt.

    And I'm still the opinion that the APS should not take down these bolts.

    It is one of the main Ammunition and you only have 10 Bolts also, it is a one shot weapon with a reload time like a sniper.

    And a Ammunition Crate don't give you a full refill.

    So, I would kindly ask if you take these issues to the Developer Team .

    Some Feedback here would be nice, it would be also interesting if this working as indented why this decision was made.
