You’ve got a chip on your shoulder about PC vs console I think. PC players can use those devices as well. I’m just sharing what I know. Don’t take it so personally. People are sketchy on all platforms.

First off, nothing is rampant in this game outside of performance issues. Modded controllers are a thing, and yes people use them. Just watch videos of zero recoil on weapons all over YouTube. However, those are "legal" and not banned or detectable, so that is the environment you have to operate in.

What’s your definition of rampant? How many people are actually using these devices? It’s hard to say without any actual statistics.
You’re probably right, but you can’t exactly assume anything either.

There's no question there are modded controllers, how many who's to say. Are they a negative factor in the game I would say yes. But from playing the game I rarely see macros in use, I do see a lot of Hitreg issues more, I think.
Until the issues with the code is fixed it's hard to say.

Sorry @Adamonic, you and all who thinks what you wrote here needs to be corrected, as it is not correct.
Happy as well to invite the knowledgeable EA folks on, as we have had this review before, where EA/DICE also confirmed and the facts remain:
M&K players using scripts for 'enhanced gameplay' is not allowed by the SLA/Code of Conduct from EA to play the Battlefield game. Same goes for modded controllers used by Console gamers/PC gamers.
And yes, they are actually detectable, no matter what their producing/selling companies tries to imply to you in their marketing when trying to sell their cheaterware. Same with their wording is cringy when trying to implore its not cheating, its only to 'enhance' your gameplay. Also reason why aka SONY upped the ante by now in PS5 having a serialized controller device on which you also need an operating system to run for version/function control that is controlled by SONY and is regularly updated.
And yes, it is actually detectable for the console apps to check what hardware components that are connected and used for the controls. The big question and outstanding issue is however if the game developers themselves have an interest in and sees it positive for them to enforce a given user-end controls portfolio or not... So yes they can. Question is, do they want to...
Its a never ending cat versus mouse game, where new exploits are coming out all the time and the game devs and platform owners needs to follow up and keep them out. This takes efforts, costs money and some are more committed to this than others. It is however a poor sad place to be if our FPS online gaming world goes towards its the ones with the latest and greatest cheats that wins the match, and not the best game skills, w collaboration and strategy that wins the day...
A couple of FPS games have come out to consoles where aka M&K was deliberately blocked from working for their inputs, which again is testimony to where there is a will, there is a way to succeed with it. We are many millions of online gamers now these days that are totally fed up with cheaters and we do leave if such is allowed to go rampant and ruin the fun of gaming on an equal fair playing field.
- 3 years ago@CyberDyme Then the anticheat is doing a pretty crappy job because there are a ton of videos all over the place using these things.
It would be amazing if they were all caught and detected, but based on the dates of these videos, with recent gameplay footage, these controller "gamepacks" are alive and well.
If you watch any of the videos, that is exactly how I feel on the other end of those shots. I am lasered all the time, console players with very low ranks but at the top of the leaderboard in kills.
OP asked if they were rampant. I don't think they are, but that's my opinion, but they are definitely in use right now in the game.
