Armor rework idea (bf 2042)
We all know that they added an armor plate gadget in bf2042. But we also know that it is not in the right way into the game. Some people call it useless, some call it too op, some say that the way it is in the game is not right, the sure thing is that it needs a rework.
So, my idea is that, instead of being a gadget, it takes the primary weapon slot. The category of the armor plates is going to be called "other", and this category will include whatever weapon dice plans to add that is neither an ar, nor an smg, dmr, shotgun or sniper rifle. That means that the player is now nerfed to the sidearm, melee, grenade, speciality and gadget.
First of all, different weapons deal a different amount of damage to the armored player, instead of giving someone extra health. Smgs and sidearms will do very little damage, ars will do 50%, shotguns, also 50%, while dmrs, explosives, melee attacks and snipers will do the exact same as with no armor. Ah, and, for balance purposes, the ammo type wouldn't matter.
And now, the nerfs, that will balance it out. First of all, a speed and mobility nerf would not be good. That's because, I think of a nerf on accuracy, no ads and increased sway, that would work better for a close quarters type of playstyle. That means that nerfing mobility will make the playstyle useless. Also, it would be great if there was a visual indicator when an enemy looked at you, like an armor icon over your head, and a voiceline upon spotted, that says "enemy armoured soldier spotted", or something along those lines, so that the enemy is prepared.
But this would not be op, since there will be ways to be effective against it. Grenades, melee attacks or a coordinated approach by a squad could easily take a player with armor out.
Overall, this rework brings something n new type of player to consider defending an objective from, and would make the game have more variety. But what do you think? Thell me in the comments bellow? Would it be cheesy and annoying or hard to play as? You decide.
